I like to think that we group of Summoned should celebrate each other's accomplishments, and SOME OF US are too humble to share. But we have enough friendships across borders that it seems just inherently wrong to keep things to ourselves.

With that in mind, our beloved genius Viktor is being awarded an honorary degree at the esteemed Grand Academy of General Science for his impressive technological work. I know that many of us have benefited from his work and therefore he will have to live with the acknowledgment of that whether he likes it or not.

SO even though he hates this and he's probably going to uninvite me from his shop forever, I want everyone to know! To the Free Cities folks, we'll be attending the ceremony to cheer him on, and there will be an afterparty at his shop. I believe Hilda has the invitations detailing where to go and when.

Also they gave him a great nickname called the "Doctor of Illumination" which I love.

If you find me murdered by being bludgeoned to death with a cane, know this: I regret nothing.

Does the name M. Creed mean anything to anyone? We found it inscribed on a ring in the possession of the woman in the altar, so the easy assumption is that the ring has some connection with Josselyn Creed, but it's possible the name could also be a coincidence.

Also, if there's anyone who was looking into connections between Josselyn and others, or who have just met a lot of people and are good with faces, there's an image of the last person to touch that ring available in my domain. There's a stack of papers with the picture on it on the bar when you go into the hotel, feel free to take some.

We discovered a pair of mated lizards in the woods of Solvunn some time ago. One appears entirely normal, the other is half-mechanical, with gears in its midsection. It should clearly be dead regardless of where those gears came from, and yet it both lives and has fathered eggs.

Aurelius once wrote, "If you are distressed by anything external, the pain is not due to the thing itself, but to your estimate of it; and this you have the power to revoke at any moment."

My fundamental concern about this wisdom is that it fails to spot the physical root of trauma. People who cannot snap out of their distress also deserve compassion and treatment.

My apologies for the intrusion. Locals informed me about the recent chaos and I found myself concerned and a little hesitant about reaching out. Back home I treat those who approach me for support with their mental health. I had excellent resources there but here I can offer nothing but a listening ear.

I understand some of you might be feeling exposed, stressed and intimidated. To you I offer my own wisdom. If you worry about what lies ahead, you will be the only one who suffers in the end.

Right, now that's all over and done with.

The Horizon. I see that everyone who's been brought here has been getting quite adept at using it, which is commendable considering humans¹ usually have a tough time poking their heads into worlds they can manipulate with their minds – trust me, I know. It's certainly a very malleable space, and in many ways it reminds me of my home. My true home, not the Earth I was stuck on before I got here.

My point is that I'm curious, and I also only got here a little while ago. Have there been any attempts to research into the Horizon? If so, what was gleaned? If not, why not? Any information can be forwarded to me, Bartimaeus of Uruk, a.k.a. Necho of Jerusalem, Sakhr al-Jinni of Al-Arish, N'gorso the Mighty, Wakonda of the Algonquin, etc. etc. If you're looking for credentialed experts on non-euclidean planes of existence where the world itself can be moulded to the shapes of its inhabitants' choosing, look no further.

¹ And their similarly one-plane-bound kin, since I know the non-humans around here might get a bit miffed if I don't specify. Don't worry, I see you.

I know everyone's a little preoccupied at the moment, so I'll keep this short.

I didn't think it'd be a problem to wait a few weeks to visit the Horizon for the first time, but obviously that was a mistake, so I'm hoping someone can help me out with getting there sooner rather than later. I've heard you lose your memory the first trip, and I get that people might not be interested in babysitting right now, so I don't care if you just abandon me there; I'll figure it out.

[Is this a terrible idea? Probably, but it still seems entirely worth it at the moment. He isn't a total idiot, though, so he also adds--]

And if there's anything in particular that might be good to know about the whole thing, I'd be interested in hearing it.
