( A second set of handwriting shows up here — hey, it’s him, ya boi. )

Here’s the kicker: it seems like they might be tourists. Monsters from back home. We hunted down a pack of Hellhounds earlier today, and unless I missed a big memo over the last year and a half or so, those aren’t native to this planet.

No more cute and cuddly Furbies from planet Vulcan, or whatever. This could be bad, Like, lethal bad. Hell, it already has been. We’ve got a body count. It’s an all-hands-on-deck situation.

The point here is to get a central repository of intel going. If you know anything, we’d appreciate a tl;dr here for other folks to reference. I’ll also start slapping notes on the Monster Board in the Roadhouse if anyone wants to swing by, but we figured it’d be good to have an open line of communication to reference on the fly in case you run into something with teeth and a bad attitude.

Hellhounds are ferocious, wolf-like creatures typically utilized to hunt down the damned and drag their souls to Hell. They’re sized anywhere between a large dog to a small donkey. They possess heightened senses, exceptional speed and strength, and prey may experience hallucinations when Hellhounds are nearby, used to inspire fear to either paralyze or frighten victims out of hiding.

Hellhounds will be invisible to undamned humans, but scorching a pair of eyeglasses with Holy Fire will make them visible to the wearer. For aid with Holy Fire, visit your resident Angel. In Thorne, find Lucifer. In Solvunn, Michael or Gabriel. I'm Castiel, you can find me in Cadens. A barrier of salt across all doorways and windows, or simply a circle around you, will keep Hellhounds from crossing. Typically, only Angel Blades could kill them, but it appears any conventional weapon here can work. Decapitation is advisable.

Stay safe, everyone. If you need help, call us. We’re here.

[this message will arrive into the awareness of all summoned. however, given the nature of this content, with both istredd and wanda’s telepath abilities combined, they’ll make it so that the summoned can choose to read it at a later point in time when it isn’t a nuisance to them; an unread message, as it were. they will also telegraph the images linked into the minds of those reading as they read, for ease.]
This is Wanda. Istredd and I have talked about the importance of making this information available to all Summoned.

What we are going to detail here are events that happened a few months back. It has to do with Josselyn Creed—those in Solvunn would have noticed her ashes displayed in the main square of the Primary Settlement. It has to do with the abductions that took place, what happened to those who were taken, and what those of us who stayed behind were able to uncover.

It might not be an easy read, especially for those who were taken. But we think it’s important that we are all on the same page. To be aware of our surroundings and cautious of the intentions of the natives here some more. Any comment or action that may seem a little odd might be worth taking note of.

And… perhaps this can bring some closure to those who are still feeling the effects of what happened.

We still don’t know who the original shrines were to, or what the shrine monster was–whether it was a god itself or a servant of a god, nor where it is now. Motions are currently being considered to be pitched to our factions requesting access to the island and the ruins to investigate. We don't know if they'll allow us, but we're trying.

It might also be worth considering more people learning High Magic in order to counter this sort of thing. Solvunn is the place where this kind of magic is prevalent, but… I could share what I know with others who are skilled with magic in the other nations so that they can teach it to those around them, too.

We’ll meet at some point–all of us–in the Horizon to discuss what we can and should do next. We will let you know when. If there are any questions or additional information to be shared in the meantime, feel free to do so.

( ooc: this means that now every summoned has ic knowledge of what happened with josselyn and her cult! we will be setting up a mingle in september for characters to get together, from all factions, to discuss things more in depth after some time has been given to digest the information. also to avoid the event log lol )

[Viktor’s hurried script is maybe familiar to some, but what’s different now (beyond the fact that it’s slightly more hurried) is that it appears on its own. Whatever this is about, it’s apparently important enough for him to make a rare solo appearance, a departure from his joint broadcast with Jayce. Right now, it's just him, relaying information as quickly and expediently as possible.

If you’re not necessarily familiar with Viktor himself, the words match those soliciting location information not too long ago. It seems this is the culmination of those efforts.
]

We know where the captives are being held. It’s an island directly north of the Singularity crater, roughly three hours off the coast of Thorne’s border, where I am now. I’ve created a map in my Horizon to show the location, as well as the data from the trackers that allowed me to pinpoint it. The explanation is slightly technical, but suffice to say the system is improved to the point where I am confident in its accuracy. Jayce and I can answer any questions about it, though you may need to direct inquiries regarding the magical component to Stephen.

[Who is here, also.]

Thank you to those who offered to collect additional data with the receivers. We would not have been able to locate this place otherwise.

The island itself is not large, though we suspect it’s heavily warded, with the exact holding area magically concealed. We weren’t able to detect anyone coming or going, so it’s likely the captors are using portals to access it directly from various abduction sites. I imagine this aligns with other investigations.

What happens now will require cooperation. Sam has done what reconnaissance he can, but we're not sure of what awaits us on the island itself, nor do we know who is responsible. Accessing the island will require us to eliminate its magical defenses or otherwise dispel its enchantments—any additional information that anyone has gathered is, at this point, vital to share.

[ooc: full receipts are here for the curious! responses may come from any of the four characters currently investigating the island, and please thread jack away. pit people…feel free to receive snippets of this message as appropriate. for additional plotting/convergence of plots, hit me up on plurk at [plurk.com profile] whitticus or discord at whitticus#8139.]
assembles: (a long long look)

Hey there, everyone. My name is Steve Rogers and I'm one of the people most recently summoned to the Free Cities. I'm also a good friend of Sam Wilson's — we've worked together for a number of years. I know he's made quite the name for himself here.

I've only been here for a little over a month, but in that time I've noticed a sudden increase in military activity within Cadens. There's increased drills and training exercises, equipment moving in and out, that kind of thing. I went by Fort Wilbridge and tried to ask some questions, but all they really had to say was that they were acting out of an abundance of caution. Almost like they're expecting something.

It seems suspicious, so I was wondering if anyone else has noticed a change in how the factions are behaving, whether it's something I haven't picked up on in Cadens or something going on in Thorne or Solvunn. I figure it might be a good idea to compare notes so we won't be completely blindsided if something else is coming our way.

That's all I've got for now, but it's nice to meet you all. In a manner of speaking, anyway.

Alright, here's the deal.

Turns out there's a solid handful of summoned here in the hunting business, and I don't mean local game. If chasing down monsters or demons or whatever is in your wheelhouse, this message is for you.

I have a bar in the Horizon. Harvelle's Roadhouse. Sign's lit up, door's open, you can't miss it. We're thinking maybe getting together in one place might do everybody some good. Swap some stories, share some tips, talk about what you've seen here, what you know about putting it down, that kinda thing. Might be nice to have a place to keep tabs on everything.

Also, maybe doing a little drinking and knife throwing, if that floats your goat.

Just so we're clear, this is not an invitation or encouragement for every rookie with a sword and an ego to get inspired about a new career path. If this ain't your area, if you haven't done it before, stay at home. You will die, and nobody here wants to go on a corpse rescue mission.

( There's a mingle post for anybody who wants to swing by, whether they're a hunter or just curious! The Roadhouse is open for anyone to use.

Threadjacking in this post is cool with me.
