[ Much like the last time, the message arrives to the Summoned in two distinct styles of handwriting, indicating that Alucard and Thancred are coordinating the transmission of this important missive in tandem. ]

The last time Thancred and I sent out a communication in this manner, it brushed against the topic of the attack that the Summoned faced in Nocwich back when we were first invited and questions regarding both Elizabeth and Oliver, who the most senior of the Summoned will recall as the two responsible for freeing us from Thorne. We are writing with an update on the latter topic, as it impacts us both now and likely in the near future.

As those of you currently in the Feywilds already know, and others may have heard, there is one person who remains here with us: Elizabeth. Up until this point, there had been no sign of her. We suspect that she was here the last time the Summoned were invited to the Feywilds, but opted not to show herself to us. In any case, she was willing to answer some of our questions.

To begin with, we directly inquired as to why she and Oliver decided to step in with the first two groups of Summoned. Oliver had concerns about Thorne’s growing power endangering the Singularity. Elizabeth also had ethical concerns regarding our detention. The hope was that both Solvunn and the Free Cities would respond to this overstep of power by Thorne and put their efforts into counterbalancing it and stopping the ritual from being done a third time. As we all know, they decided to do their own summonings instead.

Elizabeth claims that she has not seen Oliver in two years and that they went their separate ways at that time. Some of you may recall that is around the time that Josselyn’s cult made its move against us. It seems that Oliver was driven down a different path, as he felt he was somehow chosen given his heritage. Simply put, he believes himself to be a descendent of one of the gods, given he learned of his ability to cross the Singularity’s threshold, as we can. We therefore suspect that if this is true, he would be the descendent of one of the New Gods — a former Summoned.

As an aside, apparently the Summoned who make up the group of New Gods are capable of having children with natives of Abraxas, and this allows them to have more interactions with the Singularity. More to the point, Elizabeth emphasized that there are more travelers from other worlds than Solvunn, Thorne, and the Free Cities want us to realize. Many of us might recall the traveling performers from some time ago - apparently they fall into that category.

In any case, Elizabeth did seem concerned about Oliver’s current status. There are rumors that he has been looking for a way to “ascend” — language that should be familiar to many of us. She suspects this is why there’s been no recent sign of him. He had once shared with her that he wanted to use his pedigree to find a way to remake the world, which certainly doesn’t sound good. I fear we may not have seen the last of him.

We’re sharing this now because this information supplements what we shared previously, adds some corrections when needed, and will doubtlessly impact our future. Given all of the activity with the Singularity, I think it is safe to assume that we may see Oliver again in some shape or form. If that’s the case, having basic background information will be helpful. I don’t know if this will have an element of outright conflict between his desires for the Singularity and ourselves or between him and the three major territories, but I think it may be wise to consider a few what-ifs.

Hello you lot! A few of us have been talking for a long time about the possibility of making our own colony in Abraxas, sick of the way the territories used us and inevitably as we know now, turned on us. It wasn't very feasible before as long as we were stuck within, but that's no longer the case. Those of us who are in the Feywilds now found that the Fey abandoned their land and Elizabeth, the lass here who helped us, promises that the Fey have left for good. She closed the door herself to their other land, they can't come back.

That left us with an entire territory where no one is in charge. There are buildings, homes, businesses, and an entire infrastructure set up for a community that is now gone. We think we can create an official Summoned home base in this land and make it our own.

We’re well aware that for many of us, our concerns currently lie with the Singularity’s continued expansion. We’ve no desire to detract from that concern or the efforts being made to address it… but I’d wager that there are some who feel as if their potential contributions might be limited at best.

If your skills lie primarily within the bounds of the mundane, or if you find that you aren’t busy enough already — we have need of you. Anyone who can hunt, gather, garden, cook, barter, sew… The list goes on. If you haven’t an idea of what you might do, I’m more than certain we can find something of use for you. You can speak to Jesper or myself as you see fit.

We’re also looking for a volunteer or two to speak with Nocwich, see if they might be interested in an agreement with us.
[ Neither of them are on BAD terms with Nocwich but someone else would definitely be a better call for Reasons. ]

I can’t guess at what comes after this business with the Singularity is settled, or if there’ll be an after at all, but if there’s a future to be had for us… I’d like for it to be a better one. One that we’re prepared to meet.

The Fey were able to live independently here for a thousand years or something. We can do the same. If we can trade with the Nether and Nocwich we won't need the help of the others and good luck to them trying to come back here to take us. This could be our fresh start. Who's with us?

Hello. I hope everyone is safe and well within our new boundaries. Please feel free to reply if you would like to check in with anyone.

While in Solvunn I made the effort to reach out to the god Umbvagher to see if he would answer some burning questions on our mind. Umbvagher is one of the New Gods who we know for certain now were Summoned in 1700. Umbvagher is responsible for showing some of us that vision last year, indicating we too will become gods as he did in time.

I knew that some people were concerned that we had no choice but to follow this path, so I asked him if there were Summoned in his time who did not become gods. He said that not everyone ascends so it is not written in stone that will happen to us.

When asked if people were able to voluntarily leave, he told me the following: "You should tell your friends that if you ever want to do something here? There's always a cost. That's for gods and mortals both. And there's no turning back once you make up your mind, so you better be sure you know what you want."

He also informed me that the Singularity has never acted this way in his recollection and he thinks we may have to act. He said that some of the gods may be willing to help, but others like Zorne want the chaos.

I am afraid he was not able to provide me with many details but I thought it wise to share what I can with the collective.

Listen up, children.

We all have to live here. We've come a long way in these walls and while the current regime isn't about locking you up to get this nonsense sorted out, that doesn't mean they shouldn't.

This isn't a sideshow freak tour. Don't get your grubby hands all over the glass or litter all your useless trash all over halls, we have a raccoon for that, and she's likely more tidy than the rest of you.

Go deal with the flooding or something useful, will you.

What Lucifer means to say is, hey guys. This message is intended for the people showing up in Thorne unexpectedly. Welcome to the castle! Sorry about the shitty situation, and also for literally everything he just said.

Since we've almost entirely run out of people with more seniority and better people skills, we figured it was kind of up to us to step up and go over a few things with you, or answer any questions you might have.

I think first and foremost, if you're not... super familiar already, Thorne is a little less loosey goosey than you might be used to from the Free Cities or Solvunn. We're more tightly monitored here, and the things we do tend to have a sort of ripple effect on the people around us, so. Just. Something to keep in mind. We also try not to all go to the Horizon at once, it gets a little suspicious, so if you can, try and stagger it out.

Usually Istredd is the one teaching beginner magic classes and I just assist him, but since he's gone, I guess I can... pick up on a few until he gets back? So if you're not already familiar and want to learn some basics, you can check out the class schedule and come in whenever.

Also, the raccoon isn't feral, mostly, but it's not really a good idea to piss her off. And please put your library books back in the same condition you found them. That one's more of a personal request.

I think that's mostly it. Was there anything else?

I'm not teaching any of you enchantments.

If you end up in someone else's occupied room don't rifle through their possessions. Besides, the rest of us have likely already have done that, anyway.

Ask around for Dion if you need other general assistance. He's--I don't know, he's around somewhere.

Great. That's so helpful. Thanks.

Anyway, that's all. So. The end. Bye!

To the Summoned –

Right then, sorry to blast this into all of your eyeballs first thing on this fine morning, but it seemed like the sort of thing most of us would be interested in discussing. We’ll get right to the point.

Some new nonsense is happening with the Singularity. A few weeks ago, Dion and I paid it a visit on the Horizon side. I didn’t offend it but we didn’t get much out of it. In light of recent events, we’ve gone back, and it seems as if it’s feeling a bit more lively now.

In our initial meeting, the only feeling, if one can call it, was a sort of vague recognition of us, particularly so when I made mention of our potential future. My personal experience with the Singularity is quite limited; however, other experiences indicate this is not unusual. What is unusual is this new state of the monolith as of now, a sort of alert consciousness.

Istredd’s taken it upon himself to do some proper follow up, so we’ll let him get on with what he’s found.

The Dimming happens on December 21st of every year but the Singularity starts waning throughout the month of December. It is dormant on that day, enough that people can visit in person. I've been there twice. It is the natural cycle of the Singularity. Cid saying it's feeling a bit more lively is deeply concerning, it is supposed to be slowing down right now.

After hearing about the tremors causing havoc on the outskirts of the crater, I decided to investigate. I had a suspicion. Going inside of the crater around the Singularity kills the natives of this world. We are instead thrown into the Horizon. Many of us experienced that in April during the collective vision we had, when our territories threw us in there.

I am sorry to say my worry was well-founded. The tremors from the Singularity pushed into the territories and the crater has taken ground. I recommend that no one from the Summoned investigate closely. For right now we don't know if this is reflective of what's to come or just a strange one-time incident. I don't want anyone to panic, but we should keep an eye on it.

I currently do not have an answer as to how to stop it or how to force it into dormancy. I know that there are people in our community who have a connection to it. If you could approach it and see if it will communicate anything worthwhile, or see if there is a way to calm it, that might be helpful.

For now, I would recommend those who are near the base of the crater give it adequate leeway. From the amount of power it appears to hold still, we can only estimate it will continue to grow.

[He's tried it once before, but conversation had been quick. Doing it to everyone... Well, he's still trying to wrap his head around the whole thing so it takes him a minute to figure this all out.]

A couple of weeks ago, me and a few others found a pack of large birds roaming around the woods. They're called chocobo back in our world. They're usually used as mounts, racing, or transport. We were able to wrangle a few of them and have been keeping them at one of the stables at the First Settlement.

The ones there have been tamed so if you need to get around the settlements, we can hook you up with a ride once we get a cart for them. Can also help if you want to learn how to ride or race one.

They're a lot smarter than they look. So if they show up outside Solvunn and you plan on catching one, I might be able to give you some tips. Tifa and Yuffie might be able to help if they want to.

If you're from Solvunn, you can find me at the inn or by the stables. Just don't mind the goat.

Greetings Solvunn, and welcome to any newly arrived Summoned. There are a few things of note I wish to share with you all.

Firstly: if you are a member of Aloy's patrol, your sending spell on your token may need refreshed. If you are a Summoned interested in joining, I suggest seeking out the woman herself. If you can find her.
Secondly: we are still cleaning up after the arrival of the Heralds, and I suspect that the coming months will only see more bloodshed. I am seeking individuals who wish to learn funeral rights, both on behalf of Zalyshyty and Vagn. The Secondary Settlement especially is seeking able bodies who will tend to the dead domesticated animals that still remain. I am more than willing to teach what you will need to know, either there or in the shop I help tend, "The Healing Leaf" in the Primary Settlement. Don't be concerned about the undead starfish in the latter location, he's harmless and stays in his jar. For the most part.
And lastly: for those of you have created pacts with the gods here, I would appreciate any thoughts on the matter you might have.

That is all.

The Council has granted us an old stable to fix up.

We'll be setting up a board inside where you can place tasks, jobs, request for training or other community notes. It'll be primarily used for helping with delivery tasks from suitable couriers between the cities. Do not offer if you cannot defend yourself.

It can become a space for working together or teaching those who need it new skills.

Anyone can use it and locals can post up jobs themselves.

If you want to help set things up you can.

Everyone. There has been nothing convenient about entertaining a few of our divine friends these past months. At this point, I believe some of them meddle in our lives on purpose. But you know how these beings are. Loving, violent and above all selfish. But their conduct should never be mistaken as good or bad.

Do you want the opinion of a professional? It’s human.

Of course, when I examine our delusions about being divine, and remember my mortal origins, it motivates me to question where they come from.

Were they once human like us?

In any case, I would like to remind you that your memories will take you by surprise. Not today. Nor tomorrow. But someday you will recall more about who you were, and perhaps find you cannot stand it. And whether that happens today or tomorrow, take a seat and have a drink, and try not to take yourself too seriously.

but he's not the only summoned here, which means that perhaps he's not the only one currently dealing with... this.
)

Hello, sorry to intrude on all of you, I'll be as quick as I can. I know we're all still reeling from whatever that was, but I'm at my wits end and I could really use some... advice. And given the nature of this place, it's not a far stretch to imagine that I might not be the only one struggling right now.

It's just... I woke up with wings. And that might seem like a welcome change of pace but now none of my clothes fit, and I keep knocking things over with them because I forget that they're there when I'm focused. Or, even worse, when I'm not even aware of moving them -- I can't bear to think of the number of people I've accidentally hit with them and it's only been a few days. And surely someone else amongst our number has advice or experiences with unruly... appendages. For lack of a better word.

So if there's anyone who might be able to help or share how they've dealt with the unexpected gifts we've been granted, I'd sincerely appreciate it. And don't worry, I'll be sure to buy anyone a drink in exchange -- it's the least I can do. And thank you.

Oh, I'm Kaveh, by the way. I'm an architect back home and, well, this sort of stuff doesn't just happen where I'm from. Mostly. Or when it does it happens to other people, not me.

Hi everyone,

My recently adopted brother Zagreus was sent home and I've met several people who have done the same. It's the nature of this place, I know, but I was thinking and I created a sort of 'memorial' in the Horizon. It's a giant tree in the north area and it glows so it's hard to miss. I put portraits up of some people I miss, but I encourage you to do whatever customs you have or represent your loved ones however you like. It's a public space so it's there if you need it.

If you want to talk about anyone here you can too.

[ This message is sent for all Summoned to see about a week after the dreams and Heralds made their presence known. ]

Hello everyone. I know we're all dealing with a lot right now, but I thought this was worth the surprise eyeball-script.

The Heralds of War likely need no introduction at this point, but some of us still remember when they first arrived a few years ago after a poorly performed ritual in Solvunn. During that time, I'd managed to make contact with Koth and have tried to maintain some communication.

[ Not necessarily advised--Himeka did this of her own accord and curiosity. Those who are aware of her tree-form may have noticed that some of the limbs have been wilting and rotting the more time she's spent reaching out to Koth. But that's neither here nor there. ]

She's not always easy to understand, but when we spoke when they first appeared, one word came through:

"Mission"

For years my friends and I have been wondering what this meant. Now that she's back, I sought clarity. Or...I guess confirmation.

I understand her more easily these days so I reached out to her earlier today and she did confirm that this is that mission. What's happening right now in all of our communities. I'm not sure if war itself is inevitable...but she seems to believe that what she's doing will help there to be peace afterwards.

I know many here have seen war in their own lives and on their own stars before this place. If you'd like to share your stories, I would welcome them. I don't think peace is ever as simple as we want it to be, but as for if this is the only path forward...

I'm rambling a bit. This may not be a grand revelation, but I thought it important to share that what is happening now may have been building for the last few years and mayhaps some time before that as well. Only now, we may have a part to play.

Please take care,

Hi everyone, it's Julia Wicker here again. When the Singularity was struggling a few months ago, before the -- what are we calling it? Vision? Hallucination? Anyway -- god drama, I came on here to mention what the Singularity was communicating with me. It wasn't a lot, but it did seem to make people aware that it was more than a giant magic rock.

I don't know if anyone else has had this experience since that all went down, but it felt like it was calling to me again, and I went to connect. I know that even though we couldn't 'fix' what it was upset about back then, it still seemed like a good idea for more than two people to have a bond with it, so if you feel that pull and you're interested in going to say hi, it turned out well for me! I can go with you, if you're unsure.

AND Unrelated to that, I wanted to mention that the spellwork from my world works really well here, so if people want to learn new magical skills that aren't native to here, or you don't have access to a lot of it, I'd be happy to teach you! I figured a few things might have come in handy with our more recent calamity, so if you want to meet up in Nocwich, I'm there. Solvunn folks, you know where to find me.

Sorry I rambled a bit! Thank you for reading if you did.

[ The message arrives to the Summoned in two distinct styles of handwriting, indicating that Alucard and Thancred are coordinating the transmission of this important missive in tandem. ]

Apologies for the interruption, but after some time of investigating, Thancred and I have found some interesting information related to a remaining mystery that dates back to the first time many of us experienced the eternal night of Nocwich.

Alucard is granting me far too much credit, please know he’s the one who uncovered this. But yes, for those of you who were here back then, I’m sure you’ve been wondering who was truly behind the attacks on the three Summoned delegates. It’s certainly haunted me, especially given that it led to the attack on Libertas and the subsequent retaliation against Nott.

It turns out that those responsible were a Nocwich faction of Josselyn Creed’s cult, who skillfully were able to manufacture equipment that appeared to originate from the Free Cities, thus appropriately assigning the blame.

It doesn’t excuse the Queen’s lack of a proper investigation before she made assumptions and mounted her attack, but it does give us all some closure. We can’t be entirely certain what the cult’s motives were, but we can speculate.

It is worth noting here that Josselyn’s cult has roots in a more established faith here, one associated with the concept of a New Day and the Page of Pentacles. I first heard the phrase when we were invited into the realm of the Fae, and it concerned me given how much it sounded like something that could be a cult. As it turns out, there are a number of branches throughout Abraxas. Josselyn was able to turn branches towards her own ends, which in turn explains how so many of us were taken when she executed her plan.

To add another branch to this winding tree, a small village associated with Nott called the Old Emberwoods still practices this faith, and there are other similar hamlets scattered throughout Thorne and Solvunn. While they appear to be harmless and practicing an untainted version of the faith, a few of us will be keeping an eye on them all the same out of an abundance of caution.

On top of that, a mage named Oliver is apparently from Old Emberwoods. Only a few of you may recognize that name, but he was one of the mages who helped a group of Summoned escape Thorne about three years past. Beyond that, all I have been able to learn is that he is older than he looks — about a century, all told.

This information was likewise shared with Sten, who some of you may know from Luna. He was kind enough to keep an ear to the ground, and eventually found an old flyer for one of this group’s meetings. When I visited the location in Ikorr earlier this month, I was able to find another flyer that had the impression of a strong hand writing on top of it. Making rubbings revealed the plans as we have just outlined them, thus bringing this information full circle. From the looks of the location, this branch of the cult has not been active since.

We realize this is a lot of information to take in, particularly for those of you who are more newly Summoned. Feel free to ask questions and we’ll answer to the best of our ability. With any luck, this cult will never again rear its ugly head and we have the answer to a question that has been plaguing some of us for quite some time now.

Likewise, we realize that this information may seem pointless given that this faked attack and the responses it garnered offers uncomfortable parallels to our current moment. There’s no true connection between them, and we are sharing this information for the sake of knowledge and closure.

Hi, everyone. My name's Jack.

Some of you know this already, but I'm a writer. I kept a blog back home, and I was working on adapting it into a book series, but that didn't really pan out, considering the whole... temporal kidnapping thing. Several months ago I started writing for a few periodicals, and then eventually published my first real book here in Thorne shortly after. Which is pretty cool! But not really what I came here to talk about.

Writing, for me, has always been a kind of coping mechanism. I'm not always very good at analyzing things real-time, my brain works much better in hindsight, and sitting down to recount the things that I've been through helps me process it all in a way that's easier for me to really understand on a deeper level.

Also, for full transparency, it helps me keep a check on my sanity. It started as a suggestion from my therapist, actually, which is a much longer story that I won't bore you all with right now. The point is, having a written account of things that have happened, which are verifiable and which line up with my memory of events months or years later, has really helped me.

So I was thinking, after everything we just went through, it might help some of you guys, too. I want to put together an anthology series. If you're not familiar with the concept, it's basically a book, or several books, containing a combination of works from different writers or artists all revolving around a central theme — in this case, the theme would be surrounding our shared alternate reality. I thought maybe if we all had the ability to write stories, or poems, or make art, or just express ourselves about the absolutely unbelievable events of eight hundred years of interconnected lifetimes, maybe we could all understand each other (and ourselves) a little better.

At the very least, maybe some of us would feel better.

You don't have to use your real name, you can take as much artistic liberty as you want. It could be a story, or a song, or art, or whatever you need to do in order to express yourself. And then, eventually, when everybody's finished, I'll put it all together and make sure anybody who wants a copy gets one.

So, yeah, that's it. If you're interested, just let me know, I guess.

( ooc: I've gone ahead and created a master post here for anyone who wants to contribute to this! Each comment would essentially act as another section or chapter of the book. You can either have your character actually write out a story, or you can provide a summary and link directly to a thread if you'd rather handwave the retelling! Hey everyone.

Um.

Castle Thorne was bombed earlier tonight. Or, I don't know if they were bombs exactly, but there were huge flashes of light when they hit.

As far as I know, no Summoned were injured badly. A lot of soldiers were killed though. I think the wards around the castle protected it from the worst of the blast, but it did get damaged.

I don't know if anywhere else in Thorne was attacked. I haven't heard anything from Nott.

I saw one of the devices that was dropped, or what was left of it. It was metal and had an arcana sign engraved on it. I think we can assume it's from the Free Cities.

Anyway, that's...pretty much everything I know. If you have more info, go ahead and share it.
