Hello. I hope everyone is safe and well within our new boundaries. Please feel free to reply if you would like to check in with anyone.

While in Solvunn I made the effort to reach out to the god Umbvagher to see if he would answer some burning questions on our mind. Umbvagher is one of the New Gods who we know for certain now were Summoned in 1700. Umbvagher is responsible for showing some of us that vision last year, indicating we too will become gods as he did in time.

I knew that some people were concerned that we had no choice but to follow this path, so I asked him if there were Summoned in his time who did not become gods. He said that not everyone ascends so it is not written in stone that will happen to us.

When asked if people were able to voluntarily leave, he told me the following: "You should tell your friends that if you ever want to do something here? There's always a cost. That's for gods and mortals both. And there's no turning back once you make up your mind, so you better be sure you know what you want."

He also informed me that the Singularity has never acted this way in his recollection and he thinks we may have to act. He said that some of the gods may be willing to help, but others like Zorne want the chaos.

I am afraid he was not able to provide me with many details but I thought it wise to share what I can with the collective.

How'd it feel to you? The conversation, I mean. Was it sincere, did it feel genuine or manipulative?

You got any theories on what he meant?

It felt genuine. He seemed disappointed that some people didn't want to become gods, I think since he chose to be one, he considers it the best option.

No. He said as far as he's been here, the Singularity has never acted this way, so he didn't know what we'd have to do. Only that he seemed to think it would have to be us. I don't think the gods will intervene.

Much obliged for the information and confirming what we all suspected with that vision. Did he explain why he decided to share this at all? Any underlying motive that you could detect?

Unfortunate that we don't have more information regarding the Singularity's current activity. Was there anything elaborated on regarding the gods themselves and their relationships with the giant rock?

I think he was telling the truth when he left us that message after the vision. The whole 'you're not theirs, you're ours.' I think he feels a genuine kinship and wants us to join him. He didn't seem to like when I suggested others wanted to stop from ascending. I think he would have said this to anyone who asked him, but no one else has attempted to speak with him.

When I asked him if the other gods would help us, he said "Some might. Others will just accept that it's how things go. And a few will enjoy the show." He said he thought it was possible the Old Gods would know more about the Singularity's behavior if it pre-dated his Summoning.

I can't imagine why no one would want to speak to the person responsible for sending us 800 years of false memories.

I'm not a fan of reaching out to deities, but we may need to if only to fully brace ourselves. That would require selecting one or two though.

Alright, but assuming that's accurate intel, what makes the difference between someone who 'ascends' and someone who doesn't? Is it a matter of choice?

If the Singularity's tantrums aren't on record even from that long ago, then what's changed? If he was Summoned and he ascended, then that points to this not being because of more Summoned coming up through the pipeline. Right?

Others have been told that the Draconae recorded the dragons falling ill coinciding with that time, similar to how they did recently.

But we also don't know for certain if the Summoning rituals that have been used the past few years were exactly the same as the ones back then. Or they could be the same, but whatever damage was done back then to this world never fully healed, and the new Summonings have only made it worse.

Or you can believe Ambrose, who claimed that Summoning us was stabilizing the Singularity.

When was the last time we know the ritual's been used?

[ There seem to be less and less of them appearing in this world ever since last summer, during the conflict. ]

I think around four months? I don't recall anyone in the past two or so months.

We don't know how many Summoned happened in his time. I have only heard of nine New Gods, including him. I believe we're over sixty people at this point. It could be there's too many of us feeding the Singularity power.

So, as usual, we just don't know enough to make any kind of rational judgement call. Great.

Who else do we know who's old enough to have been around back then? Any of the dragons?

Guess it was a good call on your part to make contact. Thanks, Istredd. It's good to know that ascending isn't a guaranteed thing, and that there's a chance of people returning home, even if a price has to be paid for it.

I know they weren't the most complete of answers, but I didn't expect him to know everything. All I wanted confirmation of was the possibility.

Honestly, this is more than I was expecting. So I appreciate you making the effort.

It's funny, though. If him giving us that vision was to convince us that ascending is a good thing, I'm not sure it really worked as planned.

I'm back in the Nether, we were stranded in the ocean on a turtle raft. The Draconae came for us. What about you?

The turtle came back, did it? Who could have guessed?

The Feywilds, here. Deeper in the woods, however. We didn't even know where we were at first.
As for who eventually found us, you'll never guess.

I'm not surprised about Thorne. I think we can write off all the Heralds of War at this point.

Yes. He came to me in the form of a bear. I think it was a productive conversation.

The Heralds of War no doubt want this so I think we can assume they will not help us. But there are others.

Better. Luckily the bullet was not stuck inside of me so it could have been worse. I really need to stop being injured on turtles though.

As you specify the new gods, I am compelled to ask if we know aught of the old gods. Were they too once counted among the Summoned?

The records do not go back that far so we do not know. The new gods are the only ones we have confirmation of.
