Hey there, everyone. My name is Steve Rogers and I'm one of the people most recently summoned to the Free Cities. I'm also a good friend of Sam Wilson's — we've worked together for a number of years. I know he's made quite the name for himself here.

I've only been here for a little over a month, but in that time I've noticed a sudden increase in military activity within Cadens. There's increased drills and training exercises, equipment moving in and out, that kind of thing. I went by Fort Wilbridge and tried to ask some questions, but all they really had to say was that they were acting out of an abundance of caution. Almost like they're expecting something.

It seems suspicious, so I was wondering if anyone else has noticed a change in how the factions are behaving, whether it's something I haven't picked up on in Cadens or something going on in Thorne or Solvunn. I figure it might be a good idea to compare notes so we won't be completely blindsided if something else is coming our way.

That's all I've got for now, but it's nice to meet you all. In a manner of speaking, anyway.

It seems they're targeting Thorne's stuff more, but that's not surprising, they really hate Thorne. Also fancier and more expensive things go through there. I don't know what's being confiscated, but I'll ask next time. Gun to my head I would say it's anything that could potentially help Thorne more than us.

That's a good guess. If you've already got the ear of some of these merchants, I'd see what else they might tell you. The more we know about what might be coming, the better.

Sure, people love to tell me things. It's because of my winning smile.

Though I'll tell Inej to reply to this if she has extra info, she's a spy, sometimes she knows things.

I'm starting to see why you and Sam get along.

Sure, I'll take all the intel I can get.

[ And he's known quite a few spies in his day. ]

I'm fairly certain it is impossible to not get along with Sam. And if someone didn't, I wouldn't trust them. Instant red flag.

You know, I have to agree with you on that one.

Proof of his good taste is yours truly.

Jesper, right? How do you know Sam?

[itookashot]

Jesper, yes. He was there when I fled here from the barracks on my first day. Brought me to Mag, got me a place to live and some things to do.

[assembles]

He's sort of like the welcome committee around here, huh? He's always been good with people, and making sure they're taken care of.

[itookashot]

He's exactly like that, it's why he's a semi-celebrity. Most Summoned in Cadens meets him quickly. He's the one who convinced Mag to let us live here in the first place.

[assembles]

Yeah, he mentioned as much. I tried to keep up with the work he did to help around here while he was gone.

[ And while he's still in recovery. ]

Oh so that was you. I was wondering who the new hot blonde guy was.

[assembles]

[ Oh, here we go. Not that Steve should be too surprised. He'd actually gone a pretty long while before receiving a comment like this. ]

You could have introduced yourself if you were curious.

I haven't really been my usual overly friendly self lately but next time I will. Sleeping is usually one of my favorite hobbies!

I think that's understandable, with everything that's been going on.

Can I get a physical description, at least, so I know who to look out for around the inn?

I'm very hard to miss. 6'3, brown skin, gray eyes, a smile that could light up the darkest of days, also I'm one of the few people with guns here.

[ This Jesper's got a smart mouth, but it's nothing that Steve's not used to at this point. ]
