Hey there, everyone. My name is Steve Rogers and I'm one of the people most recently summoned to the Free Cities. I'm also a good friend of Sam Wilson's — we've worked together for a number of years. I know he's made quite the name for himself here.

I've only been here for a little over a month, but in that time I've noticed a sudden increase in military activity within Cadens. There's increased drills and training exercises, equipment moving in and out, that kind of thing. I went by Fort Wilbridge and tried to ask some questions, but all they really had to say was that they were acting out of an abundance of caution. Almost like they're expecting something.

It seems suspicious, so I was wondering if anyone else has noticed a change in how the factions are behaving, whether it's something I haven't picked up on in Cadens or something going on in Thorne or Solvunn. I figure it might be a good idea to compare notes so we won't be completely blindsided if something else is coming our way.

That's all I've got for now, but it's nice to meet you all. In a manner of speaking, anyway.

That's fair. Let me know if you ever need another sparring partner.

No, I think I've done my time. But if you train with them, it's possible they'll be more honest with you than they were with me.

I always need another sparring partner. Do you know how to use a sword?

Perhaps, but I have my doubts. They are very insular. I will still ask, if you think it might help.

I think it's worth a shot, assuming it wouldn't involve risking the good rapport you have with them.

I can work with that. I, too, am skilled with a shield.

It might. Right now, I cannot tell. But I believe that trust can be rebuilt, if it proves folly.

And those bracers?

[ While Steve doesn't think either of them want to reflect back on that nightmare for too long, her ability to block a gunshot with her arm bracers had definitely stood out. ]

If you're willing to take the risk, I'd definitely be curious to hear what you might find out.

I do not have them here, unfortunately. None of my armor arrived here with me.

Yeah, I'm missing my shield too. We'll have to improvise. Or we could go into the Horizon, but I feel like that kind of defeats the purpose.

It is possible to train other gifts in the Horizon, but yes, physical training is best done in the waking world. I see you have been speaking to Jayce--he is a smith, and I've been meaning to ask him to help outfit me. Would you like to join me?

That's not a bad idea. I was planning to swing by for an in-person chat with him anyway.

[ No shield made here will quite match one made of vibranium, but it's worth asking what Jayce can do all the same. And less awkward than asking Tony. ]
