Just a thought, considering our recent guests - what's your opinion on vampires and werewolves? Do you have them where you come from or are they just in stories? Monsters? Misunderstood? Just another type of creature?

As far as I know, those are all fictional where I come from. But, can't really say impossible anymore.

My world's got superheroes. They're on lunchboxes and everything.

Yeah, nothing seems impossible anymore, especially after coming here.

Wait, superheroes? That is so cool.

Yeah, that's the general consensus.

And no, not really. Just in comic books and movies and stuff.

I don't really know what I think. I don't pay that much attention.

So, no superheroes but vampires, werewolves and other things, those are common where you're from?

Really? To superheroes? Man, I'd be all over that. Do they have superpowers and everything?

Yeah. Common but mostly in hiding. Society isn't exactly cool with them yet.

Oh yeah. Super strength and the ability to fly and magical looking weapons that cause a lot of damage along the way.

Our society seems pretty okay with them. I don't know how they'd deal with vampires and werewolves. Maybe better than expected since the whole superhero thing is out there.

Damage, huh? Hopefully they don't duke it out in the streets too often. I've seen superhero movies, there's always a ridiculous amount of carnage and property damage and collateral damage.

I guess maybe it's not so cool after all...if it's like that.

Maybe. Then again, superheroes aren't the same thing as 'monsters.'

It's exactly like that. Fortunately, never been too close to where I'm actually from but I know it's a matter of time.

I think superheroes can be monsters, though. Just depends on who you ask.

Not really the angle you think about when you watch the movies, but when I think about living it...

Oh? Are you talking about the POV of the bad guy? Or does it just depend on the personality of the superhero?

Most of the time, the bad guys think they're doing the right thing, don't they? And they tend to manage to convince some people that they are.

But it's not the angle I think about either with superheroes or vampires or anything. But, they'd have their reasons for doing what they do, wouldn't they?

I guess you've got a point there.

Generally, I think of it more along the lines of whether they're hurting anyone. If not, then no skin off my back, right? That's generally my opinion on everything though, let people do as they want, so long as they're not hurting anyone.

That tends to work.

It's working so far. I've met a lot of decent people here, and I would've been a lot more hesitant to reach out if I'd had a lot of stipulations about what kind of people I like. You know?

Yeah, I definitely understand. It's not like that for you where you come from? Acceptance in that way?

[wolfssegen]

There's a lot of things I can overlook. A lot of the people I live with come from really rough backgrounds, have done jail time, that sort of thing. There's some things I can't, like discrimination or intolerance. The world has too much of that stuff, where I come from.

Sorry to say that it's not all that different where I come from. The reasons to discriminate and hate might be different but it's still there. Sad to say it never changes.

Willing to bet it's the same here, too. I figure that happens wherever there's people.

Unfortunately. I'd hate to say you're probably used to it but —
