Quick survey:
1 - What do you do for work here?
2 - What did you do back home?
3 - What's your skillset?
( note: personally, I'm cool with threadjacking in my posts as long as the other person is too, go to town. )

I gotta say, I do miss having a good tank driver. Also, having a tank.
But no. Kind of the reverse of that. I'm looking for work.

N7s are graduates of the ICT. That's the Interplanetary Combatives Training. It's kind of a bit deal, most people wash out.
SPECTRE stands for Special Tactics and Reconnaissance. They're kind of a above-the-law group, in Council space. Interplanetary pervue, not a lot of oversight— I'm the first human to get the job.
...and if I get hold of a tank, I'll let you know.

So you're a special ops supersoldier from space
You know, once upon a time that would have blown my mind. Those were the good old days.

[Because it's a joke, you see. That kind of thing does not happen to other people; her life is so tiring and weird.]
I'm looking for steady work for myself too, at the moment— I'm trying to avoid signing up for the local militia, if I can. If you're anywhere near Cadens, I'll keep you in mind while I'm looking.

( Shepard is just Space Bucky: dicuss. )
I'm in Cadens. I live at the inn everybody seems to gravitate to.

[You work and you work and you earn the right to wear the N7 and what does life give you? Hand me downs. Of course.]
I'll see you there.

I'll be the guy with the metal arm
( A little dry humor courtesy of the cyborg parts amputee.
He does wander down after maybe twenty or so minutes. Drinking Buddy status unlocked. )

What? Every grown adult needs a babysitter.]
Hey. [You're distinctive sir. And she? She has scars that glow in the dark, so let's just be careful in who's houses we cast stones.] So, turns out we've got a few things in common.

He settles into the space beside her with the familiarity of a guy who's definitely spent a solid amount of time here. )
Yeah, no kidding. I'd like to say my side involved a little less space, but I've been dealing with a surprising number of aliens lately.
( He remembers the days he thought he was going to go into accounting... If only he knew back then. God damn, his life is weird now. )

[The one third of the year minimum was conservative, in Shepard's case; but then, the Alliance did move people around. She can't have been the only one.]
Tell me about it. What kind of aliens?
