1. Mostly at this juncture, I'm running errands, doing odd jobs. I'm still trying to find my footing here.

2. Observation, research, and information collection.

3. Former acrobat, specifically the high wire. I know my way around a blade. I'm incredibly good at not being noticed, ask Jesper.

I have never, not once in all our time together, been able to know when you're about. I can only guess you probably are.

Kaz is the only one that's ever really be able to notice. I'm still not sure how he knows.

I think he's pretending, that he acts like you're always around so when you are it seems mysterious and impressive.

Yes, I absolutely think that's what he's doing. Listen, we have no proof to the contrary, my theory is good.

Your theory is unprovable, I'm not sure if that makes it good necessarily, but it does actually make it fool-proof.

What is your purpose in this little survey, anyway? Just for curiosity's sake, or do you have something more specific in mind?

Fishing around for inspiration. It's been a while since I've been in the job market. Trying to get an idea of what the options are.

I'm personally new enough to the city I don't know what the options are here. At a bit of a loss of what to do with myself in this world, as it were.

I've only been around a couple months myself
I've seen a few people working at inns, running stands. A surprising number of monster hunters.

I was in Solvunn initially, but I moved here during the Peace Summit, as my best friend had arrived and I couldn't leave him alone.

I haven't had a very... typical life in years. It's amazing how strange the simpler things feel after living with not so simple ones for so long.

[This all makes her sound so much older than she really is. She's only 17, but the last three years and change have been a lot, and Inej knows she's changed from the girl she was, irreparably in some cases.]

I know exactly what you mean. One day at a time, I guess. Things start to make a little sense after a while.

An unfortunate common experience to share, but sadly unsurprising based on what I have heard from people I've met here so far. It seems this world chooses the people they do for a reason, I think.

I want to remember what it is like to just...live. It feels unattainable, most of the time. The simplicity of... before.

Yeah. They want people who know how to fight for them. Wonder how well that's working out for them.

You tried shopping for furniture yet?
Felt like the weirdest god damn thing I'd done in years.

I haven't seen much in moves of war thus far. Not that I'm hoping for them, mind you.

Not yet. I've not got enough coin for my own place yet. We're working towards it, though, and Mag works with us really well with letting us room at the inn in trade for gruntwork for her.

Mags is a good lady.

When I got around to getting my place back home, I must have spent two hours staring at lamps.
