I know exactly what you mean. One day at a time, I guess. Things start to make a little sense after a while.

An unfortunate common experience to share, but sadly unsurprising based on what I have heard from people I've met here so far. It seems this world chooses the people they do for a reason, I think.

I want to remember what it is like to just...live. It feels unattainable, most of the time. The simplicity of... before.

Yeah. They want people who know how to fight for them. Wonder how well that's working out for them.

You tried shopping for furniture yet?
Felt like the weirdest god damn thing I'd done in years.

I haven't seen much in moves of war thus far. Not that I'm hoping for them, mind you.

Not yet. I've not got enough coin for my own place yet. We're working towards it, though, and Mag works with us really well with letting us room at the inn in trade for gruntwork for her.

Mags is a good lady.

When I got around to getting my place back home, I must have spent two hours staring at lamps.

At least you knew what electricity was. I've only really learned of it coming here.

I can't only imagine. Actually, maybe not even that. We still used used torches and traveled by horse and carriage where I'm from.

Is it a child's toy? It sort of sounds like one.

Imagine a broom, except instead of sweeping the dirt it sucks it up into a little container

Then imagine making it about 10 inches around and six inches tall, on wheels

Then imagine that thing rolling around your house automatically cleaning your floors

That's a lot of imagining.

So it's... a disc, on wheels, that cleans for you? But how does it know when to stop?

I genuinely have no idea

Perhaps it never stops.

It wheels itself back to its little house and it electrically recharges itself

It has a house? I don't even have a house, how does your cleaning disc have one?

I told you, the future's crazy
The year I lived before I got here is decades later than when I started out, it's a little complicated
The point is, I totally understand the feeling

Truly mad when our cleaning tools have houses.

Complicated is everyone's life story here, I think. But I'm glad to know someone besides Jesper understands the wonder of it all.
