to: all, with apologies to nico di angelo

( the message is deliberately written in ancient greek. for most summoned, the network will auto-translate, but she's hoping there might be others who recognize the original text. )

WILL SOLACE COME RETRIEVE YOUR EMOTIONAL SUPPORT GOTH I'M NOT HIS BABYSITTER

( helpfully, she adds an illustration that no one asked for: )

( then, because nico seriously needs more friends and it's her duty as former head counselor of the ares cabin to embarrass any and all younger campers: )

↖  BTW THIS IS NICO

HE'S SPOKEN FOR BUT I'M SURE HE'LL BE THE AFTERLIFE OF YOUR NEXT PARTY

( more shitty doodles follow, this time vaguely resembling percy and annabeth, although this time she labels them: )

( she figures she may as well cover all her bases here since all of this feels like a ren faire on steroids anyway.

ooc | threadjacking is more than welcome and, frankly, encouraged. let's all go hog boar wild. 🫔

Well considering that I'm bound to the Underworld, and until very recently leaving it would inevitably result in me dying again...no, I don't actually!

Is this 'United States of America' near Greece?

Oh, I don't mind. Being able to experience the Surface for longer here is nice, but it's not somewhere I'd want to live forever.

And...Western civilisation? Do mortals usually categorise themselves by cardinal directions? That seems like it would get confusing. What about the ones that are more west than you are?

The entrance to the Underworld is in Greece, as is Olympus. But it feels odd to call it our birthplace. I would have thought that would be Chaos's realm, more than anything else.

I haven't ever heard of anyplace called Rome. If we are all going to move in the future, I think it's a long way off yet.

...I am familiar with exactly none of those events.

Mortals measure how old they are in 'years', don't they? I'm afraid I couldn't tell you how many I've lived for. Time's rather tricky to keep track of in the Underworld. Also I’m not entirely sure exactly how long a year is.

It has. There's quite a few Shades in the Underworld who fought in the Trojan War, like Achilles and Patroclus.

Yes, actually. Achilles serves at the House. Taught me how to fight. Or at least, the Achilles I knew did. He's here too, but he's rather more alive than when I knew him.

Patroclus I run into in Elysium sometimes! But I haven't known him as long as Achilles.

They are! Achilles visits Patroclus in Elysium often. It took a little time for it to be possible, but...there's nothing keeping them apart.

Not usually, no. And Father is a stickler about that sort of thing.

But also if you sneak your way back into the Administrative Chambers and adjust the terms of any particularly unfair contracts, he can't do anything about that!

[Perhaps the more important point here was less 'having your boss be the big boss' and more 'is there an unruly rebellious prince willing to break rules and piss off his father for you']
