We discovered a pair of mated lizards in the woods of Solvunn some time ago. One appears entirely normal, the other is half-mechanical, with gears in its midsection. It should clearly be dead regardless of where those gears came from, and yet it both lives and has fathered eggs.

Miracle implies the presence of divinity. This is clearly something else. I would like to know what, and to know whether any other Summoned have encountered anything similar.

Is it more that the machine parts couldn't come from Abraxas because of the style or level of technology, or because of what they're made of?

Prosthetics and other sorts of mechanical medical replacements exist where I'm from, though there's limits, but also there's no magic there so it could be totally different here. For the eggs though, are you sure the mechanical one's the father? I think parthenogenesis is a thing with lizards.

[Also should he just come downstairs and see the lizards? Maybe. But that would require leaving and that's so much work.]

He seemed to think it was the metal itself, although the metalwork was also unusual. But that may because mechanical lizards themselves are unusual.

We did not witness the conception, but they behaved as animal mates would. Their progeny may tell us more once they hatch, unless they emerge completely normal. Then we may only be able to speculate

Did he say what the metal actually is? Like what it's made out of?

Maybe. Are there a good number of eggs?

He didn't give it a name. I'm not sure he could.

There is a small clutch. I'm not sure whether they are all expected to survive hatching.

[Not for the first time he really wishes he had technology from home; identifying metal would not be so much of a challenge, but he doesn't have the first idea of how to do so in this place.]

That might be worth looking into first. If it's jut a metal that's really uncommon that's going to be a lot different from metal that doesn't exist at all here.

I don't know anything about hatching lizard eggs, but hopefully they're all fine. The more of them there are the better the chance of figuring out anything about their genetics.

I agree. It's estimated to be some time before they're ready to hatch, but we've made plans to check in regularly and see what eventually emerges.
