to all:
This is probably going to sound strange, or, hell maybe it sounds stupid but bear with me. I'm not someone who's used to having any sort of... abilities. Frankly, it's not common for my people in general.
So when you use these abilities here. Is it normal to feel starved afterward? Like you could inhale an entire week's worth of rations.
If not, I'm going to start getting concerned. Feels weird enough not having an allergic reaction every time someone offers a protein bar, but this is definitely new. Little more concerning than that.

It is taking quite a toll on the body, like a good hunt. You are using more energy than you were before!

You had this magic before coming here?
no subject
I can still use it here, but I have always preferred a sword and bow. I have acquired new abilities, however. It seems that is being the same for many of us.

Just want to cover all my bases.

This is your first time having any kind of special abilities being at your disposal?
I do not think you need to be worrying so much.
no subject
Yeah, it is. I don't have anything other than combat skills in my world. It's rare for my people to have ... powers... at all, really.
no subject
Practical combat skills are still very admirable in their own right! It is interesting to be having more options here; even having magic available to me at home, I was not making much use of it.
Also, is having an allergic reaction something you are normally worrying about, then?
no subject
Normally, yeah. A couple species back in our universe can't handle the same food, medication, or drinks that most can - my people included. It doesn't seem like it's a problem here, though.

You are having much freedom in this place that you were not before, then. I am sure that does not stop you from missing home, but have you found some of your experiences here to be enjoyable?
no subject
It's weird - only seeing humans around. I'm used to seeing more than just one other species at a time. Usually it's closer to ten.
no subject
I am used to only seeing humans, though they often have many differences among them as well. I know that is not the same as different species. For your home to be so varied... that is sounding incredible to me.
no subject
Differences, you mean like human skin and hair kind of thing, right?
no subject
Yes, that is my meaning. Those things are very important to some people. Enough for some to wage war over, which is being a terrible waste. There are also dragons, but they are fewer now.
no subject
I've heard a bit about that. I can't say it makes a lot of sense to me, but, my people tend to have one big war and call it good. Not smaller conflicts over longer periods of time.
no subject
Only one war? I admit, I am envious. My own people are not having as much war as other countries, but that is because in my kingdom, everything is belonging to all. We do not need to be fighting over such things. The same cannot be said for neighbors, and there are many who are not content to be having what is within their own borders.
no subject
There's something to be said for 'scorched earth' policy. But with our people, yeah, there was a big unification war and that's about it. Then we had to settle everyone else's problems.
[... Like the genophage but uh. Let's not talk about it.]
Communal living, you mean?
no subject
It is communal living of a sorts. Everyone is learning to fight so that they can all be contributing to the hunt, and the land itself is being very fruitful. We are an entire kingdom, but all of the villages within are living the same way. There is no need to be at one another's throats. I have spent a long time away from home, however, and sometimes I am wondering if we are only managing it because our kingdom is small compared to others.
