Hi everyone, it's Julia Wicker here again. When the Singularity was struggling a few months ago, before the -- what are we calling it? Vision? Hallucination? Anyway -- god drama, I came on here to mention what the Singularity was communicating with me. It wasn't a lot, but it did seem to make people aware that it was more than a giant magic rock.

I don't know if anyone else has had this experience since that all went down, but it felt like it was calling to me again, and I went to connect. I know that even though we couldn't 'fix' what it was upset about back then, it still seemed like a good idea for more than two people to have a bond with it, so if you feel that pull and you're interested in going to say hi, it turned out well for me! I can go with you, if you're unsure.

AND Unrelated to that, I wanted to mention that the spellwork from my world works really well here, so if people want to learn new magical skills that aren't native to here, or you don't have access to a lot of it, I'd be happy to teach you! I figured a few things might have come in handy with our more recent calamity, so if you want to meet up in Nocwich, I'm there. Solvunn folks, you know where to find me.

The Hudson back home only has a River Spirit. He's not the most friendly, from what I heard, but not unreasonable. Are you from New York?

I remember you telling me about the emojis. Sounds like Fred appeared right before I got here, so I haven't missed a whole lot about him, if he's newer to the scene.

It's a her, as was the Hudson River dragon. She did us a very important favor once, so it's a small sign of appreciation. I am from New York, yep, I went to Columbia. I'm originally from Jersey, don't judge me too harshly!

He's definitely newer. There are some New Gods here who are pretty well known despite being younger, but he wasn't one of them. Either he just was quiet all this time, or worshippers didn't trust calling upon him. He's a trickster, you always have to be careful with those. The guy that called on him for the theft learned that the hard way, I think.

I wasn't born in New York either, but I've lived there for a decade now. Don't tell other locals, but I think it still counts when you want it to. We had to bribe the Hudson to help us, so your dragon sounds nicer.

I wonder how new he is then, exactly.

We had to bribe ours too. They don't give anything without getting something. I guess it wasn't a favor if there was a price, but she didn't have to agree to anything. Dragons don't bother often with humans.

The person I talked to indicated he was one of the New Gods like the others from that group, the people who were probably former Summoned, but yeah, he was quiet for some reason. Quiet or trapped or not interested, zero idea. He decided to make a 180 though on us.

We're more likely to fight dragons than bribe them at home, so yours still sounds nicer.

Do we have any idea how long the "New Gods" have been around?

A few thousand years at least. Solvunn was founded around then too, so the Old Gods predated this place being what it is, but the New Gods cropped up around then. If they were like us once, they might've been original inhabitants here.

I didn't realize it was that old, but I don't admittedly know as much about Solvunn. I've got enough on my plate keeping up with Thorne.

Solvunn's interesting but it's definitely not as like, intense as Thorne or the FC. We mostly hang out on farms and they talk about gods.

It's been a little nice steering clear of god nonsense in Thorne, despite everything else going on.

This place is alllll god nonsense. Constant. But I've already met a few who aren't as bad as the gods I knew before.

Sorry not sorry to say that's still not particularly appealing, no matter how much better they are.

I do think Solvunn has been right for me personally as I'm still kind of coping with becoming a goddess, and I'm less afraid of accidentally blowing up anything in such a peaceful environment. But it definitely isn't for everyone. And the cult vibes are very "multiple horror movies could be filmed here."

Peaceful environment seems a little at odds with horror movie vibes.

No horror movies YET. Although we did have goats walking around on their hind legs and knocking on our doors and staring creepily.

And you're sure it wasn't satyrs playing pranks?

I wish! I hear that Satyrs are great partiers.

Most of the ones I know are real big environmentalists.

My friend Grover is a Lord of the Wild now and he takes it very seriously. They all do. You definitely don't want to litter in front of them.

Damn I'll remember that if I ever meet one! I always read in the myths that they were partiers, I guess don't believe everything you read in books.

Don't get me wrong, some of them throw a great party, but you can bet they'll be sure to clean up after themselves when it's over.

So them hanging out with Bacchus is one of those fake stories?

Sorry, Dionysus. It's Bacchus in mine.

He has both the Greek and Roman forms in our world. The Roman satyrs - fauns - seem to be more aligned with what you know.

But Dionysus is kind of their ultimate boss back home too either way.

Sorry, there's two of them? Roman and Greek?

It was a surprise for me too.
But it's more like they're the same god, just separate... forms, I guess? Dionysus and Bacchus are similar enough though that they're more or less the same person compared to some of the others.
