[He's tried it once before, but conversation had been quick. Doing it to everyone... Well, he's still trying to wrap his head around the whole thing so it takes him a minute to figure this all out.]
A couple of weeks ago, me and a few others found a pack of large birds roaming around the woods. They're called chocobo back in our world. They're usually used as mounts, racing, or transport. We were able to wrangle a few of them and have been keeping them at one of the stables at the First Settlement.
The ones there have been tamed so if you need to get around the settlements, we can hook you up with a ride once we get a cart for them. Can also help if you want to learn how to ride or race one.
They're a lot smarter than they look. So if they show up outside Solvunn and you plan on catching one, I might be able to give you some tips. Tifa and Yuffie might be able to help if they want to.
If you're from Solvunn, you can find me at the inn or by the stables. Just don't mind the goat.

[Cloud isn't even there right now! And he's not even sure if he'll be able to get whoever's attention was at the other end if they're heading to the stables now. As soon as he sees that, he takes off towards the stables, hoping to make it before whoever it was on the other end. It might be a bit, considering he's coming from the Ed's inn.]

[ Cloud will likely hear what's happening long before he sees it, considering Nanaue is trying to shout over the birds.
A half dozen fish with feet scamper around too, adding to the chaos. ]

The chocobos squawk and titter loudly as the sharkman shouts back at them, moving as far away as possible. A goat comes to their defense, bleating and nudging its horns towards Nanaue in an attempt to keep them away from the birds.
Hopping the fence of the clearing the stable is situated, Cloud heads straight towards Nanaue, all the while making sure that he doesn't stomp on any of the footed-fish.]
Shouting back at them isn't going to scare them any less!
[With both hands in front of him, he tries to stop Nanaue from calling out to the chocobo, looking back over at them to see how they are doing. All of them look about ready to bolt.]

[This is... somehow much less bad than horses. Shepard's not a fan of horses. They kick, and bite, and they're extremely large and heavy. Birds sounds... more doable, somehow. And she does have a lot of backpay saved up.]
I haven't seen any on the Free Cities side of the border, but I don't think I'm gonna have your success in training a mount even if I could catch one. Think they'd let you export one or two via Nocwich?

They supposedly came in when rifts opened up a while back. Guess more than a couple found their way through.
[That question makes him stop to think. He'd only thought about the possibility of them having appeared in the other territories, not so much that someone might want one from Solvunn. While he didn't mind having to catch and train another one, he wasn't sure about the logistics of trade via Nocwich, especially when it came to live animals.]
I'm gonna have to ask around if you're really interested. Still pretty new here.

How do you want me to pay for this? I can do favors and information, but Free Cities currency can't be good for much in Solvunn.

Oh -- that question mark is doing a lot of heavy lifting. You've never seen a horse? Well, doubtless you'll run into one soon enough, they're all over the place -- it's a large, four-hoofed mount with large, soft eyes and a long snout. A bit tempermental and flighty, for the most part, and very prone to biting. But most are very sweet, I assure you, once broken.

It might be a good idea to post something up on the bulletin board too, so that the locals know to ask for us.
I'm curious to find out if there are chocobos in other regions too...
