to: everyone

Everyone. There has been nothing convenient about entertaining a few of our divine friends these past months. At this point, I believe some of them meddle in our lives on purpose. But you know how these beings are. Loving, violent and above all selfish. But their conduct should never be mistaken as good or bad.

Do you want the opinion of a professional? It’s human.

Of course, when I examine our delusions about being divine, and remember my mortal origins, it motivates me to question where they come from.

Were they once human like us?

In any case, I would like to remind you that your memories will take you by surprise. Not today. Nor tomorrow. But someday you will recall more about who you were, and perhaps find you cannot stand it. And whether that happens today or tomorrow, take a seat and have a drink, and try not to take yourself too seriously.

i think he views us as equals, or maybe like underclassmen. he's playing games and he wants us to join him on their side of the table.

[ we are you and you are us ]

he told me that humans might praise or worship us but all they really want is our power. if our connection to the singularity is what makes us special, then we don't need to be gods for that to be true. right now, we're the pawns on their board.

we are not theirs

Well, when i was a kid I always wanted to go to clown college.

I can see that. I mean -- isn't that what people always want, maybe not as individuals but as groups? Power? Some of them start out with more, and the others just about always have to fight back to keep themselves safe and have some rights, and occasionally it works out.

Are we really the pawns, is the thing. Things happen like -- like that other reality, or like this -- the thought writing -- or the Horizon, and they can't see any of it. We could be talking about anything. And what just happened with the War Heralds, with people turning against each other -- we didn't have to help them. Some people didn't. I don't know. They may want the power we have, but I don't know if they have the ability to take it.

But just because I don't want someone to take power away from me doesn't mean I want to be made into a God. Though...I'm not sure we have a choice about that, either.

they take us. take us from our homes like toys picked off the shelf and then use us as conduits for magic they can't access. it doesn't matter if we give it to them because they're the ones pulling the strings.

we're expendable. pawns where the only move is to take one step forward. we help because human beings have a tendency to try to cling to compassion over drowning in bitterness. they count on that when they drag you into the heart of the storm and throw you at the singularity just to see what happens.

[ and then accidentally a bunch of gods??? ]

we don't have a choice. we stay on the board or we get knocked off of it.
