TO ALL SUMMONED
Soooo this is weird and my first post on here hi.
Has anyone gone to the Singularity and tried to talk to it? Because I just did and I'm going to try to describe it but I'm not sure if this is relevant.
First of all oh boy does it have strong feelings! It threw a whole lot at me all at once, all negative, it's not having a good time.
I couldn't get like an exact thought or explanation, it was all emotions, but one thing that struck me is that it felt jealous and spiteful about something, but I have no idea what. The jealousy was clear but unspecific, so I don't know who to, or what about, I'm sorry. It's generally upset.
I don't think this is helpful because I couldn't convince it of anything or make it stop, but in case you were like 'hey is the Singularity going through something' the answer is 'yeah it's full of feels.'
I don't know if it would talk to everyone so I don't know that I'd advise it, but yeah. IDK.

[ Being in the desert doesn't sound fun. ]
Is this something you did back on your star?

Not actively, but I had the ability. I could have talked to higher beings/beings on other planes of existence, but I hadn't tried yet.

Were they usually like this? When I've made contact with the gods here, they were usually in the form of visions or actual words exchanged.
no subject
I don't know, but I think so yeah. They were also called the Old Gods, which is weird considering Solvunn, but the way I've heard of them, they don't think of ordinary mortals as anything more than like a collection of cells or pieces of stardust. Even their children are tiny compared to them, but they do care about their kids. If you kill one, consequences happen, it happened to us where they shut down magic so no one else could use it as punishment. So they have some way of thinking, I'm not sure if they talk or think like the rest of us do though.

[ Would the Singularity want a god killed?? ]
It does seem a little more nebulous but they are unique, aren't they? They have their own goals and personalities. The Kami, the Twelve, and Primals are much the same on my star as well.
More reasons I think we have more in common than our worlds have differences!
That being said, I don't know if any of the Old Gods have ever been dealt with in that way. I admit that I originally thought that they were something we would need to contend with either as like manifested deities based on local beliefs and stuff or if they needed to be destroyed. But now I'm not so sure.

But. It's possible they are keeping this world together, like their life force is literally tied to the land's wellbeing. Who knows what Solvunn would have to do without them? They could survive, sure, but it could set them back centuries, if the world doesn't start to die without them. Just bigger picture concerns when it comes to them.

I do think that the gods here are an intricate part of the world, though to the extent that they're vital to it's balance and whatnot, I cannot say. At the very least my own experiences here have been largely positive. Mostly.
[ Is trying to form a connection with Koth a bad idea? Yes. Is she still trying it anyway? Yes. ]
I do wonder how they may have changed over the centuries.
Or if the Singularity is just some really central old god whose locked themselves away in a crystalline cocoon or something.

It's possible. The Singularity could be the original god or the source of all power here, the center of the planet. It is more real and sentient than I expected, that's for sure.

If it really does have thoughts and feelings
[ There's a pause as Himeka clearly doesn't finish that sentence. But she eventually continues. ]
Again I'm probably thinking too much of my own star, but it was essentially created by a large crystalline deity we called the Mother Crystal. There were specific people she would form connections with who hear her thoughts and help protect the world. Basically.
[ Leaving out all the complications about the original world being sundered into pieces and the whole primal vs. primal violence that ensued but--you know. Similar concept! ]

That sounds like it might be possible here. Someone told me that it does seem to pick specific people, but I'm not sure if it's intentionally doing that or most people don't know how to talk to it. It may very well be fine with any of you trying to communicate, but it's not sure how yet. We're all allowed in the Horizon, so we all should be connected.
no subject
That could be very true... It is a little daunting, isn't it? This monolith that the dissent between these nations is based on. That we're connected to it.
no subject
We definitely are. It might be worth it for everyone to try and at least visit it. It's better to get a grip on what connects us than avoid it.

Or mayhaps the Singularity just didn't think it was funny?
I suppose that's true. I admit that I've had some reservations. Tempering, mostly.

[ She'd been assuming it was the same as G'raha
throwing spaghetti at a wall of the Crystarium and seeing what stickstrying to summon Himeka and the other Scions to the First. ]no subject

AKA, I doubt breaking the spell would matter, if the connection to the Singularity still exists.

Are you?
