Well, that wasn’t a boring weekend, not that one.

It was wonderful to meet some of you in person - and enormously encouraging to meet so many new faces. I hope the masquerade entertained you all. But, on the other hand, wasn’t there something peculiar about it? Does anybody else feel led up the garden path? I fear this is me being paranoid but…

I think the Fey mean to return to this world. I know I would be delighted to get back home and, I might add, so would many of you. It’s only natural we miss our loved ones. “My heart to joy at the same tone. And all I loved, I loved alone.”

Now, I suggest we discuss our impressions of our hosts this week and what we managed to glean by means of information. The most pressing and urgent problem I think, without doubt, is their intentions. Perhaps we should discuss our experiences and share what we learned. It could prove useful. Our small community cannot afford to misplace its trust, and I advise we exercise critical thinking at this juncture.

They seemed pretty fine with their home to me.

Well, we can all seem fine to others, time to time.

But might I ask what gave you that impression? The few I spoke to make me think differently.

All of them, I guess. The one I danced with at the ball, the merchants, those at the hunting grounds. I'd even say they seemed to think their lands are better and were pretty proud of them. You don't just drop something like that to go somewhere else Unless you have a very compelling reason.

Like being hunted to extinction.

Thorne hunted the Fey, I believe? Drove them isolation. Survival itself is always a "compelling reason".

It is. A compelling reason to stay the hell in your cosy fortress, and not go out where the people who hunted you out can hunt you again.

Well, I have heard of plenty of cases where those who are hunted become the hunter. Perhaps we are not in the firing line, but I wouldn't count against something happening.

Hardly, though I do assume they're befriending us so they can test the water in some fashion. One doesn't need to ask questions to do that.

Well, I am advising people to take what transpired with a healthy amount of caution. My entire point is to not go anywhere, certainly not to choose one side over the other.

If something happens in the future I hardly want to come back here and say I told you so.

I get that! But you started the whole things in alarmist tone telling people that Fey want to come back or something. Which is already spinning the whole situation in a certain way.

They said they were curious of us and the time was right. Never implied the might go anywhere or open up to others who are not us. So I am asking where do you get your assumptions from, and all you give is if's and maybe's.

Well, any suggestion of motive leads to discomfort. Do you want to discuss only safe and comfortable matters? That helps nobody.

I am perfectly willing to what led to my current impression of motivation but let's handle this issue first.

I'm just tryint to point out that going from 'there was something weird about the whole visit' to 'the Fey are planning to invade Abraxas' is a pretty hefty jump.

Of course it seems like that. But perhaps you should try seeing it another way. You are approaching this with a deductive attitude while I am making observations with an inductive one. It's all in the details, really.
