Β· TO EVERYONE Β·
Several moons ago when we first headed into Nocwich, there was a fortune teller named Lady Elin. I'm sure many of us went to her tent to have our fortunes read. Perhaps you've forgotten what it was she said. I know divination is met with a lot of skepticism.
Would you be willing to share your fortune with me, if you remember it? I'd like to know if it relates to anything in your life, whether it be from your time before Abraxas or since being summoned.
[and because you cannot expect something without putting yourself on the line...]
She would say "I see" and "you hold a tie to". For me, it was 'many lost souls under the night sky' and 'old lands that find new roots'. It makes me think of my home country. Many hundreds of thousands died because of the war waged in it. The country no longer exists.
I don't want to bore you with more details, but that is my basic interpretation of it.
Even if it could be pretty personal, thank you for reading this. I'm just being curious. If you want to talk privately, my name is Wanda.
cw shark man eating things
He lifts a hand to wave at her as she approaches, his attention still mostly consumed by his consuming until she mentions his art.
He nods solemnly, very confident in his art skills. ]
Me like draw. [ He pulls another strip of muscle, gulping it down. ]

wanda finds a rock nearby (but at a distanceβthe smell of dead animals isn't exactly her favorite) to sit down on, pushing her skirt under herself and keeping her arms locked around her knees as she leans forward. she's not at all bothered by his eating. it's just one of those things one ought to expect from the shark man.]
Would you like to learn how to draw letters? Like you did with my name. [just in case:] Wanda.

Me know how... [ It is, perhaps, the least believable lie anyone has ever told, in any universe. Despite the deepness of his voice, there's something child-like about the way he says it - certainly only a child could use a tone like that and expect to be believed.
Only dumb people can't read and write... he's not dumb... ]

Yeah? Do you want to help me review the letters, then?
[if she makes it sound like she is also working on this, maybe he won't feel so put-upon by it.
she tucks a hand inside a pocket and brings out of it, through magic, a piece of paper with some scribbles on it.]
I carry the alphabet with me just in case. Can we draw them on the walls of your barn?

Decorating! [ He guffaws in approval and makes quick work of the bone, chomping it down before standing up and leading the way to his barn. There is still a clay container and brush left over from the painting, only the white paint though. They used most of the red to paint the barn (a bright color that stands out in Solvunn, but suggested by a neighbor who thought it might disguise any messes). ]

she's already getting ideas of how she'd use her magic to create a space for him like that. for now, she grabs at the paint brush in the same motion that she gives him the paper.]
The first letter is Aβ [and she draws it, both in upper and lowercase.] We use the big letter for the first letter of names, or to start a sentence. Or if you just want to yell in writing, just write A-A-A-Aβ [she sputters, laughing a little.] You get it.

The other outside decorations on his barn-shed seem to be children's height. They had fun making little paintings on the wood while the adults helped Nanaue move things. ]
What next? [ he asks, forgetting he is supposed to pretend he already knows. ]

she works every letter with him, but knows that it might be a while before he actually grasps them in their entirety.]
And this is how you write your name.
[sitting on her haunches, at the very bottom, just on top of the children's drawings, she writes down N A N A U E. wanda turns to him with a smile.]
Na-na-ue.
