Several moons ago when we first headed into Nocwich, there was a fortune teller named Lady Elin. I'm sure many of us went to her tent to have our fortunes read. Perhaps you've forgotten what it was she said. I know divination is met with a lot of skepticism.

Would you be willing to share your fortune with me, if you remember it? I'd like to know if it relates to anything in your life, whether it be from your time before Abraxas or since being summoned.

[and because you cannot expect something without putting yourself on the line...]

She would say "I see" and "you hold a tie to". For me, it was 'many lost souls under the night sky' and 'old lands that find new roots'. It makes me think of my home country. Many hundreds of thousands died because of the war waged in it. The country no longer exists.

I don't want to bore you with more details, but that is my basic interpretation of it.

New foundations in the future. An emphasis on change. The foundation could be remarkably literal, as a little research might have revealed that I was working (and still am) on a construction project at the time.

I'm no stranger to divination and prophecy, or magic that lets one broadcast future information to the past. I just don't think this is that.

Mm. I think that sounds right. I do wonder if she'll reappear.

Whatever it is, a glimpse into a possibility or a set future, it's worth looking into. Not for myself, necessarily.

I would be satisfied if they really meant nothing.

Concerns about finding ways to avoid the past....month and change of mess?

Wouldn't we all. But if some of them have proven true, then I think examine the wording first. Is it vague enough for anything to fulfill that future, or is it specific?

It was rather specific imagery even if the words themselves seemed unlikely to actually be anything normal. It was a vision that depicted word-for-word what the fortune said.

[and it was likely tied in with what wanda was trying to correct with her magic at the time, so—]

The latter half of the fortune remain vague and without definition at the moment, but it was more like characteristics of something.

Interesting. And alarming.

I feel like "characteristics of something" is what to hang onto at this point, and see how the rest shakes out.

Perhaps I should ask around Nocwich next time to see what I can be told about Lady Elin.
