Several moons ago when we first headed into Nocwich, there was a fortune teller named Lady Elin. I'm sure many of us went to her tent to have our fortunes read. Perhaps you've forgotten what it was she said. I know divination is met with a lot of skepticism.

Would you be willing to share your fortune with me, if you remember it? I'd like to know if it relates to anything in your life, whether it be from your time before Abraxas or since being summoned.

She would say "I see" and "you hold a tie to". For me, it was 'many lost souls under the night sky' and 'old lands that find new roots'. It makes me think of my home country. Many hundreds of thousands died because of the war waged in it. The country no longer exists.

I don't want to bore you with more details, but that is my basic interpretation of it.

I hope it's okay that I keep things general and vague. It gets into stuff I really prefer not to talk about.

But the first bit...I sort of have some kind of prophesied soulmate deal going on. So it could mean that. It probably means that.

The details, in terms of this, were not especially important. What I was told was something that related directly to past circumstances, and then something that sounded like knowledge of my current work and a vague implication of the future. Positive, in my case.

I've been learning how they use New Magic, but they are much better at containing arcana magic within crystals as essentially magic batteries. Ours were too strong, they've found a medium ground. It means anything we create will be safer than what Hextech was.

I'm not sure yet about patterns, but I have reason to believe some aspects of the divination can be made true. Whether it's an invisible string of fate pushing at us to go that way, or actions that we take and pursue—

It's just a working theory, but it's as vague as the arcana we've been designated with. Vague enough to fit who we are, but enough to likely not mean anything.

New foundations in the future. An emphasis on change. The foundation could be remarkably literal, as a little research might have revealed that I was working (and still am) on a construction project at the time.

I'm no stranger to divination and prophecy, or magic that lets one broadcast future information to the past. I just don't think this is that.

That is true. What is it called, a self-fulfilling prophecy, I think? You expect it to happen, so you make it happen, however unintentionally.

Yes, I was. I was only there for about three months before I made the move to Cadens, but the Council in Solvunn were the ones to originally bring me.

It's interesting to think how relatively close all these nations are, and yet they've found ways to develop magic so differently. Can I see one of these crystal some time?
