To All

Hi. It's Nadine again, the healer in Cadens.

A couple of months ago, I got funding from the Cadens Academy of Medicine to work on developing new medications utilizing a combination of local ingredients and floral ingredients from my own world that I've had magically grown here. It's a project I started before I got official funding, but things have gone a lot quicker since I had the money and lab equipment I really needed.

Long story short, I have a few things that have reached the testing stage. And I need volunteers to test them out.

Obviously this is easiest if you're in the Free Cities, but I can meet anyone in Nocwich. You can try it out and contact me with your feedback.

The three things I'm ready to do more testing on are:

A topical oil for muscle and joint pain. Three levels of potency - minor, moderate, major.

A concentrated syrup to be taken alone or mixed into a beverage. Three varieties to treat a variety of ailments - physical pain, digestion distress, or insomnia.

Bathing powder for use of treating minor to moderate joint and muscle pain.

Okay, time for the disclaimers. At high potency levels, there IS a psychoactive effect. Like a lot of heavy duty pain medication, you'll likely feel sleepy and a little out of it. Or a lot out of it. Or euphoric. Or paranoid. Music will probably sound a whole lot cooler and you'll find your appetite stimulated. And I can only guarantee those possibilities in humans. I have no idea how this will effect anyone who isn't or isn't entirely human. That's why I need to test this stuff.

And for anybody from Earth thinking 'those effects sound familiar', yes, the floral ingredient from my world is cannabis.

I can compensate you for your time.

If you're interested, just let me know what you'd like to help me test and if you're local or from Thorne or Solvunn.

Is it common for medicines from your world to have those sort of effects?

Um. I'm not volunteering. But I am curious. I hope that's okay?

Depends on the medicine. Stuff for pain usually has some trippy side effects because it's basically just tricking your brain into not registering the pain. But a lot of those are really addictive.

This stuff is considered one of the best natural remedies in our world. Lots of people use it for pain, for mental issues like anxiety, insomnia. It's also real popular just for fun, cause it's pretty harmless. Like, it's impossible to kill yourself with it if you take too much. So it's safer than even alcohol.

It sounds like you have access to a lot of medicine. Even if they do have side effects like that, that's amazing!

I don't know if we have anything like that back on Dahna. But we lost a lot, so.. It could well be growing somewhere and we wouldn't know.

It was pretty good, for the most part. There was a treatment for most things, and we even wiped out some diseases for good. [ The problem comes when things are too fast and too deadly to cure. That will just, you know, basically wipe out all of humanity. ]

I mean, in my world, we'd been usin' plants as medicine for tens of thousands of years, and we were still learnin' new things about it even in my time. This is just one plant, but there were hundreds that we used for different treatments.

Sleep is good for recovery, and painless sleep? That's priceless. [which, of course, means it wouldn't be something Dahnans could afford under Renan rule.] Does everyone have access to that sort of medication where you're from?

I envy that. There aren't many who have the opportunity to learn healing where I'm from. A lot of it is stolen medications, and treatments passed down where they're able, though I did hear about

[ The text stops abruptly, midthought. Then words begin again on a fresh line. ]

Well, it doesn't matter now. Things will change back home, soon, for the better. I hope!

Hmm. With no rules for these treatments, do you not worry that someone might try and take your medicines here, and try to pass them off as their own?
