to: everyone

Hello everyone in Free Cities, this is Jayce Talis again. I was talking to the Libertas relief workers about next steps and the rebuilding effort since there were a lot of destroyed buildings and homes.

It's in early stages but volunteers for manual labor would be very appreciated now, and maybe those of us who have construction skills could be of more help in the future. I know not everyone is into heavy lifting, but I'm sure there are other things people can do, even if it's handing out meals or running errands there while they get things moving.

[Then, briefly, a hastier set of handwriting:] If you're at a loss, I'll be happy to assign you something to do.

I said I would ask other Summoned if they can volunteer some personal time, especially since we did an impressive job with the heavy lifting in the mines. There won't be any payment, but we'd offer higher discounts for our store.

Thank you,
Jayce Talis
& Viktor who had to interject

Yes, I take your point.

The Cities do well enough organizing on their own. But how much of it do they expect from us and how do they see it? Volunteers trying to help the citizenry for altruistic reasons, or tools to call on when the time comes?

Don't misunderstand me. I'm not saying it's wrong to offer assistance when it's clearly needed.

[ Jayce has seen her in Libertas practically every week. Ciri has been offering her sword and her strength to whatever projects have been needed. But with the war looming ever closer, there's also a growing concern. ]

Soldiers approached me to assist with the supply rendezvous and transport from Solvunn. I wonder if they're going to start approaching us directly with greater requests soon.

I'm surprised they haven't asked us to do more. The only explanation for the fact that they more-or-less do what we want and offer our help on a volunteer basis means we are likely heavily monitored. As you can imagine, that's had an affect on our work.

[Viktor is sure that he and Jayce could advance this city beyond anything they could reasonably imagine. The reason they aren't is most certainly because anything they do will be immediately weaponized.]

Yes, that is likely. Guaranteed, even, considering what happened in Nocwich.

I don't believe they have as much visibility in the more difficult to navigate parts of the desert. Not that it particularly matters, when those areas are uninhabitable.
