It's come to my attention that there's a certain amount of you that have no particular practical experience with firearms, and who might like to change that. Personally I'm of the opinion that it works best if everybody at least knows enough of the basics not to blow your own fingers off, in an emergency.

Besides, knowledge is own reward, wouldn't you say?

So, if anyone's inclined to come down and ding a few targets, show off, or just have a drink and shoot the breeze instead, I'll be making it a regular occasion for the next few weeks to have a little range set up on the Horizon. Look for the big silver spaceship with "Normandy" printed on the side. Can't miss it.

Ohhhh. I have heard people here talking about guns. [ Although Jayce had been very emphatic about no guns, so he hadn't realized they were a common thing. ] I haven't seen one yet but they sound... pretty dangerous.

That's so amazing! [ This might be the most fascinating thing he's learned of since arriving here. People sailing among the stars. What a crazy idea! ] Do you know Garrus, too? He was explaining how it worked. Or trying to. I think things are very different where you come from, compared to what my world is like.

[Space enthusiasm isn't exactly rare, in her experience, but people don't usually get as wide-eyed about something that can be bought with a few thousand credits for commercial shuttle seat. Shepard can never decide if it's endearing, or annoying... might be, it's both.]

Garrus is actually a good friend of mine. We've worked together a lot, in the past.

[ Don't be too shocked, Shepard. If someone bothers to enlighten him about the existence of refrigerators, he'll be just as fascinated over here. ]

Before here, you mean? You do come from the same place, then? I might have pestered him with too many questions already, too. But I'll have to look for your star... spaceship next time I'm in the Horizon.

[ If on;y because he's having a really hard time picturing what one of those is supposed to look like. ]

Yeah, before here. If he mentions a "Commander Shepard" then that's me.

Wait, are you the Captain, then? Ahh, then you're the fun one he was talking about!

[Dammit, Garrus, you know she's embarrassed about the 'Captain' thing.]

Oh, I'm lots of fun. What else did he tell you?

[ It was all good, he promises! At least, in his opinion? ]

I teased him about not taking enough risks or being adventurous enough and he claimed that was your special talent. I dunno, he said something about explosions?

I have been known to cause a few of those.

Besides, it's not really a risk if you know it's going to work.

[ Oh, that's more like it. Garrus was right, she really is the more fun one. ]

Exactly! Not that many people agree with that, unfortunately. A little calculated risk is good for them though.

I'm usually counting on it being bad for them, actually.

You got a name, or what?

I guess if you were referring to whoever you were exploding and not your Garrus-like friends, that makes more sense.

I'd feel really silly right now if I didn't. Sylvain. Sylvain Gautier. And you're... Shepard, you said?

If you mean someone who looks like Garrus, I don't actually have any other Turian friends. Quality over quantity, you know?
