Hello everyone, I hope you're all having a good day. My name is Jayce Talis and I have a business in Cadens with my partner Viktor. We're inventors and scientists back home, and we've adjusted to life here creating a variety of objects that might be of interest to people. I'm a blacksmith so primarily my work involves blades, tools, both regular ones and multi-tools, shields, canes, and collapsible versions of everything I make as a family expertise.

[Viktor, for his part, is a bit more to-the-point.]

We’re also in the business of custom projects. Given an idea, I’m reasonably certain we would be able to bring almost anything from concept to completion. Within reason, of course–we’re still working under certain technological limitations, but if a particular tool or device is of interest to you, it’s worth describing to us. We’ll see what we can do.

We wanted to let people in Cadens know that you can come to us and request what you're looking for. We give 15% off everything for the Summoned, but if you're new to the area and can't pay, you can consider anything on loan until you can save up. No hurry, we know it's hard to get started. Unfortunately we're not 100% sure if they'll let us ship these things to the other locations right now, but if that changes we'll let you know. Sorry.

Something that’s also of interest to us is the general working conditions of the mines in Cadens. We have a few ideas for basic improvements and increased safety, but any work we do will require the removal of outdated equipment. Unsurprisingly, the government is not necessarily keen on funding such an endeavor.

So what we're hoping for are volunteers in Cadens who are willing to do some heavy lifting with us to get the dangerous old machinery out of there. It is a volunteer situation although we'd be happy to make you something in thanks.

If there is interest, Jayce and I plan to extend an invitation to our domain, to exchange notes. A meeting of the minds, of sorts, for those of us who are more scientifically-inclined.

We'd really love to pick the minds of fellow scientists, inventors, or tech experts from all locations.

I am thinking pride is wise in this instance. Humility has its place, but you have been working hard at your trade, yes? Hard work is admirable, and talent is being admirable, as well.

This is actually the trade my family is in, we're toolmakers. I learned at a young age how to make things in a forge. It's been nice getting back to it.

You are bringing your family much honor by carrying on their trade, I am sure! I am looking forward to seeing what you are able to produce, after we are being done clearing the mines.

Oh they would love it, for sure. I went into science back home instead of following the trade, so I can actually hear my mother from here go 'see very useful skills!'

Science is also an important pursuit. I am thinking whatever science my own homeland has seen is not being as advanced as what you have practiced. What kind of science are you enjoying studying?

[hextechhead]

I was mostly focused on engineering, technology development, physics, mathematics, chemistry, and runic studies. Recently I became a medical student here in Cadens too, so I'm learning a new branch of science which is always fun. Viktor and I found a way to put technology and arcane magic together in our world, which made a great deal of progress.

That is a great many things to be focusing on! You must have been keeping very busy. I am being interested in seeing what comes of these new studies here.

Yeah I think my response to 'what science do you want to study' was 'all of it!' The secret is not to sleep much.

Ah, that is explaining much. Does not sleeping not make study more of a challenge?
