Hello everyone, I hope you're all having a good day. My name is Jayce Talis and I have a business in Cadens with my partner Viktor. We're inventors and scientists back home, and we've adjusted to life here creating a variety of objects that might be of interest to people. I'm a blacksmith so primarily my work involves blades, tools, both regular ones and multi-tools, shields, canes, and collapsible versions of everything I make as a family expertise.

[Viktor, for his part, is a bit more to-the-point.]

We’re also in the business of custom projects. Given an idea, I’m reasonably certain we would be able to bring almost anything from concept to completion. Within reason, of course–we’re still working under certain technological limitations, but if a particular tool or device is of interest to you, it’s worth describing to us. We’ll see what we can do.

We wanted to let people in Cadens know that you can come to us and request what you're looking for. We give 15% off everything for the Summoned, but if you're new to the area and can't pay, you can consider anything on loan until you can save up. No hurry, we know it's hard to get started. Unfortunately we're not 100% sure if they'll let us ship these things to the other locations right now, but if that changes we'll let you know. Sorry.

Something that’s also of interest to us is the general working conditions of the mines in Cadens. We have a few ideas for basic improvements and increased safety, but any work we do will require the removal of outdated equipment. Unsurprisingly, the government is not necessarily keen on funding such an endeavor.

So what we're hoping for are volunteers in Cadens who are willing to do some heavy lifting with us to get the dangerous old machinery out of there. It is a volunteer situation although we'd be happy to make you something in thanks.

If there is interest, Jayce and I plan to extend an invitation to our domain, to exchange notes. A meeting of the minds, of sorts, for those of us who are more scientifically-inclined.

We'd really love to pick the minds of fellow scientists, inventors, or tech experts from all locations.

[Swords and knives seem like a safer bet, in that monster hunting is a legitimate profession in Cadens.]

That may be a bit out of our wheelhouse, but it's nothing a consult with some of the local craftspeople won't fix.

But they've got hunters here. A different kind.
But hunters. And a job that isn't hers but needs doing. ]

I was a hunter. Am a hunter.

Being kidnapped, or summoned, or whatever doesn't change that.

Anyway what happened was at the Art Walk that recently happened, there was a sculptor who mentioned that the mining conditions here were not good and he made some of his art based on their old scraps. We investigated and while the mines weren't as bad that we saw (probably planned that way but) there is definitely old equipment in there that was just abandoned. It's made it harder to walk in there and is rusting away. The city won't handle it themselves because they consider the time and money too much for right now. They said we were allowed to do it ourselves if we could get the help.

We are hoping to move it out for them, giving the scrap to local merchants or selling it elsewhere, and then the next plan is to come up with better tools for them. But we can't do that until we first make their conditions safer.

No, for now we're just looking for hands to move it out. As Viktor mentioned, we'll have pulley systems and we'll make it all safe, we really just need more brute force to finish the job.

It seems like it'd all be a pretty big endeavor.

I've been here around five months, Viktor longer than that. We happen to have very useful skills so it's easier. I found a blacksmith to apprentice to a day or so after I got here, proved my work to her, and she's helped me get connections and we still have a partnership with this shop. Viktor was already building a reputation before I got here, so it all came together.

Cadens is not a hard to place to succeed in if you figure out a skill they use around here. Hunting is a big one, as I saw you tell Viktor you do, so you should be able to try that out here if you're interested. Dean Winchester is a helpful source.

Dean's a really talented hunter from what I've heard, he knows his way around the area, good with weapons, and he made a place on the Horizon for hunters or people adjacent to the career to meet up and talk.
