My name is Matthew Murdock and I'm wondering if anyone could help me or point me in the direction where I could help myself.

( this isn't something he really needs but he figures it'll give him an idea of both who all is here, what they can do, and who might answer a call for help from someone they think needs it. )

For those that don't know me, which is nearly everyone, I'm blind. To save you any questions, I've been that way since I was a kid, it doesn't hurt, you can see my eyes if you want, and no, I don't have a dog. Wish I had a dog, they're cute.

Anyway, when I showed up here, I came without walking cane. I've been using a branch because it's what's available but I'm hoping someone might recommend a place to either buy something similar or resources to make one.

( he doesn't need the cane, really, but it's good to have for a myriad of reasons. )

If nothing else, I can stick my hands out and go at that it that way but I'd rather not apologize for accidentally grabbing someone. Thanks in advance.

I hadn't realized the cane I saw in the Horizon would not exist in the real world.
Looks like you got yourself options to pick from in Cadens at least.

Guess I just got lucky in the dream. Or maybe it translated my very fashionable branch into something better.

And yeah, I think I've got a few good options to choose one. Maybe I'll get a couple in case I lose some in another nightmare.

I'm a little upset that I don't get to see your very fashionable branch before it is replaced by something more apt for the job.
Is there anything you wish you had on your person from home?

It's a very nice branch. I'm pretty sure there's a leaf on the end that might one day be a tree. Saving the world, one branch at a time.

I'm not really sure. There's a lot of things I think about and try to locate before I realize that I don't have them but they're also things I can do without.

The cane's the big one. I could always do with more clothes. Feels weird not to be wearing ties and suits all day.

It should be your mission to plant it somewhere, then.
Maybe that's why you're really there with all the scientists and soldier types.

Not a fan of Abraxan fashion? I don't know how well ties will look with those.
Any color preferences?

What about sunglasses, by the way? You had those when we met.

I did. I came here with one pair but hadn't thought about buying some extras.
That might be a good idea just in case.

( probably should invest in some scarves too since his outfit didn't come with him and there was no melvin to call on for help here. )

You know, you don't have to basically replenish my wardrobe. I appreciate the thought but it's all right.

I know that. But if a few ties would be helpful to your... look, I imagine you would have a hard time finding those around.

I'll be using my magic to make them anyway.

How else will they know you're a lawyer?

I planned on wearing a nametag. Are you saying that might not work as well as a nice, new suit?

Do you want everyone you run into to know of you?
Maybe that's your marketing strategy.

Your name might be too long to fit in the nametag anyway. Especially if you want to make an impression with the educational and inspiring bit.

Isn't that how I would get clients?
To put my name out there and make sure they know exactly who I am and what I can do?

Inspire and educate and make sure you don't get arrested for littering.
Or whatever else constitutes some sort of crime here.

Wouldn't it be prudent to know what the Free Cities and the people are about, first?
Would hate to see them take advantage of your charitable intentions.

I don't know what it says about me that you think I'd let someone take advantage of me.
Do I have that look about me?
Gullible and oblivious?

I promise I don't think you're easy to take advantage of.
This world is just different from the one we come from.

I know and I appreciate you trying to make sure I don't step in it.
I want to hope people won't be like that and take advantage but I'm on my guard, I promise.

I'd rather not end up a pawn in someone's game.

I'm sure more apt people will be able to inform you about the current 'imminent war' feelings better than I can.
Even outside of Cadens, I feel that there are a lot of uncertainties within every faction.

If nothing else, we Summoned got each other

I've heard some rumblings about that already. Trust my luck to drop me right in the middle of a potential war. Not something I really want to deal with but I know there's little choice on the matter.

You're right. Let's hope that's enough to deal with whatever might happen.

If you want to trust anyone at all to be safe while in Cadens, you could look for Sam Wilson.
Or Steve. Rogers. I would trust them both with my life.

Peter Parker is also pretty reliable.

You have never used 'smidge'? Well, I guess it is difficult to throw that into a lawyer report.
