To: Everyone
This is Commander Shepard of the SSV Normandy SR-2, Systems Alliance.
I know by now that that won't mean a lot to most of you; this world, this planet at least, is a bit farther down the tech curve than my normal. I'm given to understand that for a certain portioned of my fellow summoned, this is not the case. So I'll ask:
How many spacers are here, aside from myself?
Sound off. I'm willing to bet we have a hell of a lot more in common than anything else, no matter who says we ought to be at whoever's throats, or why.

Stars are, in fact, giant explosions. It is very hot.

[ no he has no idea of the difference in scale, not even a little bit ]
I'd like to see a star for myself. It would be the biggest explosion I have ever seen.

[He must be a child. Shepard has a soft spot for kids, and... well, it's cute. Space enthusiasm is always cute.]
Yes and no. A lot of stars out there are suns for other planets, and people live on those. There are some species that live in space itself, or can survive there, but all the ones I know of only want to kill everything else that they meet. Everything.
Mostly they end up looking like giant bugs. I don't know why.

not that Link ever had much time or inclination to study astrology, even if he did retain all the memories of his schooling. here and now is another story! ]
I see! That makes sense.
[
wakaranaiactually, what she says about stars does make some intuitive sense to him - explosions are hot and bright. The sun is hot and bright. Ergo, the sun is an explosion. Checks out as fact. Wouldn't Princess Zelda be excited to learn more about the stars, if she could? He'll have to bring this bit of knowledge back to her (she probably already knows).
But, ah - say no more. It doesn't surprise him to hear that space is full of monsters, too. Anywhere else Link has gone has proven to be so. ]
Bugs are hardier than most. If the conditions are extreme as you say, that must be all that's left.

y'know what, sure. bugs are all that's left. Why not.
