To: Everyone

This is Commander Shepard of the SSV Normandy SR-2, Systems Alliance.

I know by now that that won't mean a lot to most of you; this world, this planet at least, is a bit farther down the tech curve than my normal. I'm given to understand that for a certain portioned of my fellow summoned, this is not the case. So I'll ask:

How many spacers are here, aside from myself?

Sound off. I'm willing to bet we have a hell of a lot more in common than anything else, no matter who says we ought to be at whoever's throats, or why.

Yeah, I'm Earth-born, but it's just a place to be from. I got offworld the minute I could, and I haven't looked back since. Seems we have that much in common

I spoke to a woman here who is from Earth, she said that they weren't space-faring. Must be a different Earth?

I'm- I was a scavenger. I suppose I'm a soldier of sorts now, too.

Well, most everyone here seems to be human, and Earth's the human home-world. So, there's a lot of humans from Earth.

Sounds like a long story. What made you wanna join the military?

Humans don't have a specific homeworld where I'm from.

I'm not in the military. I fight alongside several people who were, but we aren't a military. Just rebels.

That doesn't make any sense. Everybody's gotta come from somewhere— there has to be an Earth. It's where we evolved.

What, did you lose the homeworld?

[That's a hell of an idea. A galaxy so large, and a human species so old and well-established, that they don't even know where they're from anymore. Or maybe worse; that they had simply outlived the planet itself.]

So, you were in a guerrilla outfit. A bunch of irregulars?

There isn't one specific homeworld in our galaxy. I don't know anything more than that.

We were a resistance. A tyrant took over the galaxy by force, we were fighting back.
