[ This message is sent for all Summoned to see about a week after the dreams and Heralds made their presence known. ]

Hello everyone. I know we're all dealing with a lot right now, but I thought this was worth the surprise eyeball-script.

The Heralds of War likely need no introduction at this point, but some of us still remember when they first arrived a few years ago after a poorly performed ritual in Solvunn. During that time, I'd managed to make contact with Koth and have tried to maintain some communication.

[ Not necessarily advised--Himeka did this of her own accord and curiosity. Those who are aware of her tree-form may have noticed that some of the limbs have been wilting and rotting the more time she's spent reaching out to Koth. But that's neither here nor there. ]

She's not always easy to understand, but when we spoke when they first appeared, one word came through:

"Mission"

For years my friends and I have been wondering what this meant. Now that she's back, I sought clarity. Or...I guess confirmation.

I understand her more easily these days so I reached out to her earlier today and she did confirm that this is that mission. What's happening right now in all of our communities. I'm not sure if war itself is inevitable...but she seems to believe that what she's doing will help there to be peace afterwards.

I know many here have seen war in their own lives and on their own stars before this place. If you'd like to share your stories, I would welcome them. I don't think peace is ever as simple as we want it to be, but as for if this is the only path forward...

I'm rambling a bit. This may not be a grand revelation, but I thought it important to share that what is happening now may have been building for the last few years and mayhaps some time before that as well. Only now, we may have a part to play.

It makes sense, given the resources they expended to bring us here. However, that doesn't mean they will hesitate to make use of us. They simply will want it to be for a purpose they deem as worth it.

We can only wonder what that purpose is. I feel the most dangerous has been sending us into the Singularity itself more than once.

That is a situation where they have little choice but to make use of us, given what happens to them if they get too close. It does appear that most decisions regarding us go back to that bond.

In any case, I do appreciate you keeping an eye on things. I only ask that you take care when interacting with these gods. I realize it's hardly the first time you've treated with one, yet you'll have to forgive me for worrying all the same.

A few potions or ethers would be nice.

I will, I promise. If anything, I feel this has taught me that Koth may not be able to be swayed. My time spent trying to earn her trust might not have been worth much in the end.

[ Which...makes her all the more grateful the physical effects of her attempts to bond are regulated only to her tree form. As far as she can tell. ]

If you're in need of them, I could look into acquiring some for you.

[ One of his roommates is a skilled potion-maker. The hard part would be figuring out how to mail them across the border.

Himeka is not at all always careful, but Thancred employs self-control and leaves that alone for now. ]

It was worth something in that you still received information from her and now we have some idea of where we stand with these Heralds. It also shows us that each god has their own set of goals.

You still have your link to Vimorskas, do you not?

Oh really? That would be nice, actually!

[ The ether more than anything else. As a healer, if she uses potions, it's because she has seriously messed up her MP management. ]

I suppose that's true. It may not have been what I hoped to learn, but it is something.

I do, yes. Though he advised me against reaching out to her.

[ Whether it's for healing or mana regeneration, chances are that Yennefer can cook something up. ]

Is that so? [ Then Himeka, why did you. But the damage is already done. ] Did he say why, or was it kept quite cryptic?

No, it wasn't cryptic nor was it forceful. He's rather laid back, you see. I think she is just the opposite of what he is, you know? He's about growth and life and vibrancy of all things green.

Said as if you haven't delivered food and snacks to me any number of times.

[ In which case, maybe he can just bring her the potions through Nocwich as well. ]

Yet it doesn't appear as if he has any interest in actively moving against the Heralds, which is also notable. Mayhap he is resigned to the war happening, and he will see to the regrowth that follows in its wake.

Yes, but that's a given.

[ And he is going to receive them whether he likes it or not. That's a promise and a threat. ]

That's my guess, but I can ask him more pointedly. It's as if Koth causes the destruction and he helps clean up afterwards. As long as nature flourishes, he seems happy.

I suppose it stands to reason that these long-lived gods would have found ways to complement each other.

It was the same with us, wasn't it?

Yes. Much as I'm loath to admit it. Not because I didn't find it comforting in the moment, but the whole idea of us becoming gods unsettles me.

We can choose a different path. I'm sure of it.

It has benefited me to bet on you and your optimism in the past, so I'll do the same now.

I think I have a lead on the crystals, by the by.

[ She absolutely has been. But regardless... ]

The worm crystals? You were able to get some?

Not as of yet, but I have researched where I may be able to find some. They'll be from junior worms, but it should give us some information to work from if nothing else.

Assuming this business with the heralds eventually calms down, then I'll be able to plan a trip up into those mountains.

From junior worms. Does that mean they're junior crystals?

I wish I could go with you.

I suspect they may be, but I'll let you know once I have them in hand.

I wish you could as well, but I'll be certain to give you a full report. It will be as if you were there.

Although the tunnels weren't exactly my fondest memories of Thorne. Still, the worms were kind of cute after I accepted they weren't wyrms as was promised.

[ No, she just misunderstood. But meeting the dragons later just vindicated her in Himeka's mind. ]

With any luck we'll be granted the chance to go on some adventure together soon.

I can't say I find them particularly cute myself, but perhaps the juvenile ones will change my view of them.
