TO ALL SUMMONED

Soooo this is weird and my first post on here hi.

Has anyone gone to the Singularity and tried to talk to it? Because I just did and I'm going to try to describe it but I'm not sure if this is relevant.

First of all oh boy does it have strong feelings! It threw a whole lot at me all at once, all negative, it's not having a good time.

I couldn't get like an exact thought or explanation, it was all emotions, but one thing that struck me is that it felt jealous and spiteful about something, but I have no idea what. The jealousy was clear but unspecific, so I don't know who to, or what about, I'm sorry. It's generally upset.

I don't think this is helpful because I couldn't convince it of anything or make it stop, but in case you were like 'hey is the Singularity going through something' the answer is 'yeah it's full of feels.'

I don't know if it would talk to everyone so I don't know that I'd advise it, but yeah. IDK.

Yeah, just wait until it keeps you up until four AM cause it doesn't wanna stop the conversation, and every time you try, it gets all pouty and huffy, like you're trying to fall asleep next to someone who keep giving these huge overdramatic sighs every few minutes.

Sorry, sorry, I'm not trying to dump on you. I don't even know you.

Ok, first off, use the higher plane thing as your explanation, NOT a special connection. I've been in Abraxas a really long time. Since the second summoning, in Thorne. Don't let your little cult over there fool you. We aren't "welcome guests" or "heroes" or whatever. We're tools to them, ALL of them. Do you know the name Relena?

When you touched it, did anything happen?

Yeah, except it can't really talk like we do, so YOU'RE the only one talking the whole time. Sometimes you get something you can sort of translate, but mostly it just FEELS at you while you just keep going and going.

[ Which, honestly, is generally not a problem for Julie. Left to her own devices, she can ramble for hours and hours about every thought that passes through her head. It's one of the few things that kept her from going entirely insane when she was isolated after Captain Trips ravaged the world — she can carry on a conversation by herself with no difficulty. At the moment, she's just being bratty and mean out of spite. ]

That's funny. I'm Julie. You're Julia. It talks to both of us.

Being able to talk to it is special, though. There's only ever been a few of us who can do it. Some people get like, the worst headache in the world, though I think some of them can be with in the Horizon okay. I've seen both. Some people can feel a tiny twinge when they get close to it. Most people don't really feel anything special outside of the weird stuff we all seem to get as a group. I can count on two hands how many I knew over the years that could actually like, TALK to it. And a lot of them lost their connections quick. None of us really know how it works.

When the first two summonings happened, they called a bunch of us "mistakes". As soon as they pulled us out the well, they said we committed crimes and shouldn't be here and they'd have to have a trial to decide what to do with us, then they threw us in the dungeons. Relena was one of us down there. She was taken away one day, they said for her trial. There hadn't been any other trials until then, either. Obviously it wasn't a trial. The queen of Thorne and her mages wanted to do an experiment and see if they could transfer our connection into an Abraxan person, so they could get to the Horizon and try to control the Singularity. It killed the Abraxan. They thought it killed Relena, I guess, but they must not've checked close enough, cause some guy found her and saved her. I don't know who he is but he's crazy powerful. Him and his girlfriend are like, gods or something. He saved Relena, healed her near the Singularity. Broke into the dungeon, freed us all. Froze all of fucking Thorne for an HOUR and opened the portals to Solvunn and the Cities, and then they just fucking poofed. Absolutely fucking WILD, and I personally don't care if we never see them again. As far as I'm concerned, they're the best friends the Summoned have ever had. Oliver and Elizabeth.

Anyway, my point is, THAT'S what these people really want us for. They want our connections. And they want control over the Singularity even more than that, all of them. Thorne's the only one that admits it, but they all do. If they figure out some of us can actually communicate with it... I don't know about you, but I'm not willing to put a target on my back. I can't be sure that Oliver and Elizabeth will be there to save me again.

Oh, yeah, it's been throwing a big bitch fit since John Wayne Gacy decided to get all up in our shit for no reason. I don't know why it cares now, it's not the first time some asshole god decided to fuck around with us. And I woulda tried to help except it won't stop
LIGHTNING and it knows I HATE LIGHTNING and I HATE DUST STORMS and I AM NOT DEALING WITH THIS BULLSHIT UNTIL IT STOPS BECAUSE I HAVE A FUCKING HEADACHE

Sorry, that last part wasn't really for you.

I don't know. Some of the others who could do it, the Singularity had sort of... replaced?? something that couldn't come with them. Something that they couldn't really exist without, I don't know how else to explain it. But it's not as simple as being brought back from the dead, cause not everyone who gets brought back from the dead can do it. I didn't have anything special like a spell or curse or whatever for it to latch onto, so I don't know why me. But also I think some others are more like you, some kind of —
higher being or whatever.

I'm just a regular old human.

Usually we get along ok. It sleeps a lot more, usually. Well, maybe it's not sleep, but that's how I think of it. It's just so fucking worked up that it won't stop right now, it's like when you put baby in a crib and they just stand there screaming with their face all red and wrinkled up like a baboon's ass for three hours until they pass out. Except the baby is a big frickin rock that's in charge of the whole universe or something.

[ Julie was not raised with "gentle parenting". ]

If you can buy me a few quiet nights, you'd be a lifesaver, honestly. I don't always feel when it pays attention to other people, but maybe the tantrum will drain it out some. Knock on wood.

Yeah, the gods pretty much suck. People are mostly mad at Nikodaemus because he (I guess, maybe they) cause he helped Josselyn hide the island, but I actually think he was just fulfilling a pact or whatever. Those other three gods messed with us on their own. And one of them MIGHT have fucked Jaskier but I'm not real clear on all that. I'm not exactly an expert on gods, though. I come from a world with regular old Christian God, and He's a complete asshole.

I don't know. Seems to have happened before I ever met it, though. The first time I went to the Horizon, when I didn't even know who I was, my whole domain was already there for me. I just had to find it.

Oh yeah, there's some real bitch-eating-crackers vibes to this one. I mean, I already knew the Singularity is connected to at least some of the gods. It took me to Nikodaemus's domain once. Or at least that's what I think it is. He wasn't there. But it didn't feel anything about him. I've been some other places that may be connected to other gods too, but I don't know who or why.

Are your world's gods like, religion-y ones who there's no proof of until they pull some real punk ass shit no one believes, or more like mythical ones that are like, real guys people would meet and know, like Hercules or whatever? Thor, the thunder god, he was here for a little while, out in Solvunn. I never met him, but I saw him across the Horizon once, and giiiiiiiiiirl. I could be a nail for that hammer all night. But he was gone in a fucking blink. A true cryin shame.

Come to my domain tomorrow. If I can sleep, it should be held up pretty okay — I almost never lose control over it unless I'm running on empty. It's a club, follow the music until you see pink and you'll find it. If I'm not there yet, Steven will be. He's my bartender, he takes care of everything. You can bring your dragon, too, if you want. Mine is a grown-up, but he's still real small, plus there's my unicorn and my t-rex.
