addressed to Thorne, but open to all.
To the Summoned of Thorne,
I have a proposition, a humble request, or perhaps an opportunity -- depending on how you choose to view it.
As you likely know by now, Kell and I have taken up residence in the city of Nott, which (as you also likely know) continues to be short on resources not as freely available there as they have been in the castle town. Recently, a plan was put in place to renovate the old hospital in Nott, which has been in disrepair and requires various physical upkeep, as well as staff.
If any of you should find yourselves with extra time you wish to donate, it would be well appreciated. If you have experience with architecture or building, that's great -- if not, that's not a problem. We need people to carry supplies, help make and bring meals for those doing the manual labor, or really just anyone who can hold a hammer and follow basic instructions. If you want to volunteer, work will be found for you; there are always never-ending lists of tasks, and never enough hands to take them up.
The weather is cold and wet now, but we're getting started on the interior. If you're willing to cast warming enchantments, that's also an option.
I can list more ideas if needed, but feel free to offer your talents. Surely, uses will be found for them. And I know you're all a talented enough bunch.
One more thing -- thank you to all who volunteered their time, coin, or gifts to the orphanage last month. The matrons have asked me to pass along their gratitude, and the note that they would continue to appreciate volunteers there too, as they don't have enough adults to mind the children at this time.
I know this has been a long-winded note. Thank you for your time.
Our door is always open to friends. Please don't be shy.
Yours,

(( ooc: feel free to handwave your character helping out at any of these things, incorporate it into your own logs icly, etc! this will be an ongoing project spanning at least a few months, so also definitely hit me up ooc if you want your character to take a more hands-on or leadership approach, or if you have any other ideas!!
the location is an old infirmary in Nott. NPC locals will be working on it, as part of the project is to provide jobs for people who need them. ))

Forgive me for saying so, but it doesn't come as much of a surprise that you don't have specific experience in this area. Still, you have already done enough earning the trust of those like Lyle Vela to even make this endeavor possible.

No forgiveness needed. It's obvious enough.
It's thanks to you as well. You helped get me the audience with him, after all.

[ Even if he's described himself as a "grizzled old bard" in the past, that was at least somewhat a jest. ]
And glad am I that I did. You've made good use of that connection.
As for timing, perhaps in a few days, if that works?
[ He's still recovering from a dip in a frozen lake, though he doesn't mention as much now. A few more days to make it back to 100% might be for the best. ]

How are things with you?

[ Rhy is probably only asking after him to be polite, but Thancred still takes a moment to consider if he's noticed his absence. Unlikely, when Rhy has been spending most of his time in Nott, so he can probably get away with not acknowledging that he's been laid up in bed. ]
It's been business as usual on my end. Well, save for that trip to the island, but that was a month ago now.
Oh, and a few weeks back Stephen and I chased down a man trying to buy a necromancy spellbook in the castle town's black market. That was thrilling.

[ He's teasing, of course. ]
