I feel like we do those things more for ourselves.

[He's thinking of his brother, who's gone in a different sense. Though he's seen people come and go here, he hasn't lost anyone he's especially close to. They went before attachment could root itself too deep, and that's just as well.]

But it would be strange to go against the spirit of her as well.

But maybe she wouldn't mind so much if she knew it helped you.

No. I doubt she would mind that at all.

It can be low key. Like, I made my brother's car in the Horizon as a way to remember him. You wouldn't know it unless I said something.

She is not gone. Merely . . . absent.

Someone doesn't have to be gone for you to want to remember them.

I fear if my thoughts go in that direction, they may turn dire.

[He isn't sure what to say, so for a little while he doesn't say anything. Then finally, tentatively:]

Do you want to go back home so you can see her again?

I do miss home dearly. Not simply Galadriel but Durin and Disa. My king, Gil-Galad. Celebrimbor.

But they would understand why I am here.

To help, of course. Why else?

But what do you owe Thorne?

Why must I owe anything?

It is a place that requires help.

And that's enough for you to want to stay?
