If you were looking for a writer's pseudonym, what would you consider a good fit?

Just nothing sounding like a nickname for a mercenary or gang member, please.

Good but controversial. Outrageous to some and scintillating to others. I doubt you should write anything so challenging - the romance genre rarely is these days - but I encourage you to try.

[Challenging. He doesn't mean it as insult but on how it challenged perceptions. Not that he is especially bothered if anyone gets the opposite impression.]

Sounds intriguing. While I'm always in for a good challenge, I think I'll pass this time. I'm trying to start with something small. Just to see if I can even get it off the ground.

I see. Have you considered publication in some kind of digest? Charles Dickens wrote his own collection of periodicals.

I know he did. I've just never seen a periodical in Thorne. There are books. Some of are full-length novels, some are collections of short-stories. I'm well aware I'd probably had a better chance of getting published in Free Cities. They have actual support for the arts.

True. There is fame and prestige in becoming a pioneer but if the cutting edge is not the path you want, then finding a publisher is the safer option.

Oh no, I don't even get to find a publisher. I spoke with a publishing house and the money they expect to take care of the process is more than I can spend on it. Fortunately, there are independent mages who do the printing and binding for a fraction of the cost but I still need to do the rest myself.

All that assuming I actually get anything written.
