If you were looking for a writer's pseudonym, what would you consider a good fit?

Just nothing sounding like a nickname for a mercenary or gang member, please.

Well, my name is Jack, and the blog and books I was writing were about a gas station, so. I just kind of picked the low-hanging fruit.

You wrote books? Tell me more about it. What did you write about?

Well, I was working on writing them before I wound up here. I didn't get them completely finished, although I think the first and second are pretty much ready to go.

The place I work back home sits above this... rift in space and time, essentially? It was about all the weird, absolutely batshit insane things that fall through it.

Well, that and the general, more mundane brand of bizarre that happens working overnight shifts at a gas station.

Forgive me the probably very stupid question. But what is a gas station?

Oh, no problem. I forget a lot of people here don't have those where they're from.

It's like a store people go to in order to refuel their transportation vehicles. It also sells like... drinks and snacks and stuff, but it's mostly a place to buy fuel.

Mundane brand of bizarre? Like what for example? How can something bizarre be mundane at the same time?

Well, for example, the time half a pig got loose in the store.

I think I understand why you started writing.

Yep, pretty much. After a few incidents like that, you start to think 'maybe I should tell somebody about this'. And then your therapist tells you to start keeping a journal so you can differentiate between reality and hallucinations, so you publish a blog instead, become internet famous, and turn them into books.

At least, that's how it went for me.

But anyway, what are you writing?

I can understand the urge to share. Doubly so if you need another person to do reality check on you.

You know what? I probably would need someone like that at some point. So I'll take that offer.

The only issue is I can't really compensate you properly right now. Not before the thing starts selling. If and when it will. Actually getting the thing out will most likely eat all my funds for some time.

And get it written in the first place. If you have any advice on that part, I'd love to hear. Maybe we could meet in Nocwich next time if you go there?

Oh, you don't have to worry about paying me. I just... really love books. Especially fiction. Werewolf romance is exactly up my alley.
