I think we got something. It's pointing west-northwest, but when it gets near the water it starts freaking out. That mean anything to you?

That’s excellent. If we can eliminate large swaths of the map, that puts us in a better position.

I don’t know why it would malfunction near the water. I suppose we can’t discount magical interference.

Hypothetical question

What would your receiver do if the direction of the signal it was picking up was straight down underneath it?

It might behave as a compass would when presented a magnet underneath—-unable to get a bearing.

That said, the fact that it indicates north from Cadens and northwest from Aquila leads me to believe that the location would be where those lines intersect. Consistency is key.

An intersection north of Cadens and northwest of Aquila is the Andromeda Bay.

The receiver's freaking out near the water.

I could be completely off base here, but I think that means the signal's coming from below it. Some kind of under water cavern, maybe. Every report we've heard from the people who got taken was that it's always dark, that they're in some kind of stone pit. Lots of fungus, which means it's gotta be damp. It makes sense, right?

It's an intriguing theory. I need more data from Thorne--that could potentially give us an idea of distance, not just a directional heading.

I don't doubt that they're underground. I'm saying I don't have enough data to know whether they're under the bay, or somewhere further to the north.

I have evidence that Ciri, at least, was taken to water. A coast. It sounded like the ocean. Large waves. I believe she was portaled to it. There's no other way she could have been brought to a large body of water so quickly.

The intersection of a line directly north of Cadens and northwest of Aquila is closer to the Singularity than Andromeda Bay, but pending data from Thorne, it could be the northern coast of the continent. Past the crater.

I agree that they're using portals, after a certain point.

I can only imagine it must be past the crater. I was brought to it once, and it is vast. Far larger than I would've imagined. And the land around it was barren. You could not see water from it.

I've seen it too. If it's beyond the crater, we won't make it in time, not without a portal.

Then we must find who is capable of making one. I will work on a few more points of reference from the tracker, then... I'll exhaust my resources if I must.
