For those who identify as human: what's the worst injury you've survived?

I'm not just asking to be nosy - with everyone coming from different realities, I've been wondering if my understanding of Things A Human Can And Cannot Do is accurate? What if we're all operating from different baselines? It could be helpful to know before we get one another into trouble!

That's a fair amount of puncture wounds. What's your average recovery time look like?

Ten fingers, ten toes, etc? I've never been shot, myself, but I've seen the effects. They're horrific, like a miniature canonball.

A few weeks for a deep blade somewhere important, longer for the shot depending on if it was a graze or not. It is possible I am subsconsiously using my abilities to heal though, I've been told that can happen. I've never intentionally done it that way.

Yes, they can be. They're very good at clean kills though, makes it quick and simple. If you're good at it, which I am, I'm the best.

You have healing abilities! Amazing! Have you ever considered testing an intentional healing effort, just to see how it compares to the normal process?

I wouldn't call what I've seen clean at all...maybe it's all down to skill. Or manufacturing? They're a relatively new invention, possibly they need some fine tuning to be less messy.

Not yet, I don't know how it really works. I was never trained in my abilities for a variety of reasons, so most of it is instinctive. I've been helping Alucard with the restoration project using them, but that's fixing objects, not flesh. I suppose I could give it a try.

Oh yes, it depends on what kind of firearm you're using. Some of them are explosive and messy, I personally prefer to have a little more finesse.

I'm just now realizing that I've essentially proposed you injure yourself for the sake of an experiment, but! I could meet you at the restoration hall to find out if you wanted to try. Or just to practice the abilities that come to you more naturally!

So you've never blown half of someone's torso away, is what you're saying? Again I've just noticed how that sounds; I don't mean it as a judgement call! Just trying to narrow down the capacity for damage.

Oh I assumed I was going to shoot someone else and then try to heal them. I'm far too precious a life to risk.

No my bullets are quite small compared to what you're talking about, I can show you. They might take out part of a skull, but not likely to blow apart anything more massive. The most gruesome shot I take that isn't meant to kill would be kneecaps, those are very bloody. And very satisfying depending on how much they deserve it.

Oh you can heal OTHER people? We can absolutely try that! But might I propose a knife or a solid punch to the arm instead of a gun. Not that I'm doubting your skill or the finesse of your weapon, but let's start small and work up to flesh wounds.

I've found kicks to the kneecaps very satisfying, I can only imagine the next level.

I genuinely have no idea. My mother was able to pull poison out of people's blood, so I know there's a healing component, but I've never tried. Might as well.

My question is if there are only humans that live in this world? I haven't seen anyone else.

That's fascinating. We can start small, say more the scale of a papercut or a hangnail for starters.

...oh. Oh that's an excellent point. There seems to be a certain amount of monstrous wildlife, but nothing I'd consider sentient.

During the Peace Summit, the only non-human-looking folks I saw were in the Summoned. BUT I don't know if they've reacted super negatively to our non-humans? Did they panic when they saw them? Because if not, maybe there are people here, they're just not hanging out in our cities and such.

I came through the pool at the Outpost around the same time as Goro, and I never saw anyone there behaving any more panicked around him than the rest of us. But the military personnel may have been briefed to expect the unexpected.

Civilians here don't seem to mind him, far as I can tell, he's made friends and the like. I'd be very curious to know if there are clans of non-humans on the outskirts or maybe they even have their own place somewhere!
