One of the things I've felt most fortunate about my time here is that I get the opportunity to meet so many people from so many different places. And I know I'm not alone in that!

Some of us has been here for a few summers while others only a moon or so, and it's not always easy when we have malms and mountains between us. But one of the best ways to understand where someone comes from is through what they like to eat. Right?

So, Alucard and I have a proposal! This could be the opportunity to create the first universe-wide cookbook. So if you have something to contribute from your world, whether it's your favorite dish, an old family recipe, or just something that you think is a staple to show off your culture's palette, let us know!

Here's an example:

Kaki Zōsui
World: Etheirys
Region: Ruby Sea
Town: Sui-no-Sato (adapted)

• 15 oysters
• 2 bowls of steamed rice
• 3.5 oz enoki mushrooms (halved)
• 2 green onions (chopped)
• 2 dodo eggs (optional)
• 1 sheet of nori (seaweed, thinly chopped)
• 4 cups dashi soup
• 3 tbsp soy sauce
• dash salt

Wash the steamed rice and strain to remove the stickiness. Put dashi and soy sauce in a saucepan and bring to boil. Add enoki mushrooms.

When the dashi mixture boils, add rice and oysters, then cook for 5 minutes on low. (If you are using eggs, now is the time to beat them in a separate bowl.)

Add a dash of salt, (and beaten eggs), then green onion. Turn off the heat, cover, and let the soup stand for 3-4 minutes

Serve in a bowl with sprinkled nori!

And if you've got no clue about the specifics of your recipe, maybe just let us know what it's supposed to taste or look like? I'm sure Alucard and I can figure something out. Have you tried his hand pies? They will change your life!

That aside, surely you'll need to include a recipe or two from The Last Stand.

What do you normally fill them with?

For savory, ground meats and some vegetation. I like game meat, but will work with what is available. For sweet, apple or pear are reliable stand-bys.

Might I humbly request we include the Archon Burger, however? It's one of Dickon's most notable dishes.

Thancred that's a fantastic suggestion! I'll do my best to recreate it accurately, though I will probably need you to taste test.

Somehow, I think I'll be able to find the space in my busy schedule to sample your delicious cooking.

I knew that I could count on you. I want this to be the most accurate version I can, so I expect some hard criticism.

I'll be certain to let you know if I detect any difference between what you make and Dickon's recipe.

Speaking of which, did you know that burgers exist in other Summoned worlds as well? Stephen knew what one was too.

What? That's amazing! How different were the ones he's familiar with?

In terms of the structure and ingredients, they seemed rather similar, but he mentioned that where he's from they're sold all over, and at a variety of different price points (and associated levels of quality).

All over. That means they're quite popular?

Yes, that was my impression based on what he said.

But they do not seem to be easily available here...

No, I have yet to see them on any menu. However, if you create a recipe that will work with the local ingredients, we might be able to change that.

I think we can, Thancred. I think there is an opportunity here to do something great.

Well, I'm certainly on board if it means that I'll have the chance to eat burgers more often. I suspect many of our fellow Summoned will thanks us as well, if burgers are as widespread across the cosmos as they seem to be.
