Look. I apparently understand very little about whatever the hells was going on back home, so no, I don’t understand it.
All I know was that the Flame Emperor apparently implied otherwise, and convincingly enough that Dimitri believed them. Her. It was enough to ignite his rage and need for revenge to an extent that even I hadn’t believed possible. I think it’s been the only thing that kept him going in the years after the attack on the Monastery. I don’t know what that evidence or proof was, but I do believe Dimitri believed it to be real.
And Edelgard never struck me as the type to make a claim like that just for boasting’s sake.
