Perhaps, but you don't have the whole picture. In the same way that I don't know what your picture looks like.
I don't have old gods in my world, so I don't have a basis for them here. Though they might not be the same, any ounce of information can help us with deciding how to approach them or how to make decisions regarding circumstances that might affect us in the future. As well as discarding assumptions that don't fit our current set of circumstances.
