For the leaders of those who are obsessed with honor - the individuals who believe that it is honorable to commit to a leader or cause to the point of their own death are naive at best and deluded at worst.

I do have guidelines for my conduct. I do not care one whit about honor. I would rather everyone for whom I am responsible live long and prosperous lives regardless of what it does for my 'honor' or reputation. If all that is needed to keep my troops or friends alive is to take actions that would be cowardly, not considering it is throwing their lives away. There is no honor in that.
