Sounds an awful lot like everything under the Church's so-called guidance, if you ask me. The Free Cities are the same but in a different area of magic, but they want to see results that will advance the technology here. I've not been able to find any academies that teach the magic Thorne favors because it seems so dismissed.

From what I've gathered and assuming I've read their calendars correctly, Abraxas is several thousand years older than Fodlan. It's difficult to say if the attitudes towards the Singularity are based off all that history or something else, but I'm leaning towards the something else.
And - Linhardt. You can't just say for the most part and leave it there. Are you trying to kill me from anticipation?
