Yes and no vis a vis Thorne. There is much more raw magical power in Thorne: we could not accomplish what they have, magically speaking. A lot of magic is much more refined here, but there are also surprising gaps and a strange lack of curiosity on magical matters outside of what they deem proper. The libraries here remind me of the School's library: Very informative and very curated.
