I've seen and heard a lot about Horizons and how most view them as a personal domain. A meaningful place in most respects, something that feels like home.

In theory, I can understand it, and how it bends to the whim of the mind and memory. The problem is that I'm not sure how to put that into practice.

What if your comfort is in people, not places? How do you quantify that and use it to craft your sanctum?

Yes. I created a fortress known to me in my homeland. But without my brothers, it is not the same as the place I recall, and I do not expect it to be.

Non-metaphorically. Not the usual type of stranger chit-chat but I get the feeling that people around here are used to the unusual.

You're welcome. I hope so too. I've been told to make something entirely new more than once in response to this feed, but I'm not sure that it's in my wheelhouse.

The absence of those you hold close can really alter the perception of a place. I guess that's what they mean when they say "Home is where the heart is."

A fortress is still useful in a place like this though.

Unusual is merely a matter of perspective. I feel like that sort of tower would be lacking in structural integrity.

So, is your horizon a fully functional establishment or merely the memory of what was?

It's not the same everywhere. They do have a version of it here, they call it New Magic, but only some people can have access to it.

From what I can tell, and I'm newer here than many, it functions as my club did though I haven't had enough time to see certain things. Like how sharp the dealers are, or what cheats they can or can't pick up.

It's my belief it's all memories given nebulous form but that's new to me, I admit.

But if you're going for the more wholesome angle, I'd say you should pick things that remind you of those people.

Hmmm well, my tendency to take calculated risks tend to have people assuming I'm the opposite of 'wise', pretty much.

You know even "new" ideas had to be inspired by something else, right? I mean unless it was the Original original, I guess, but that's something entirely different.

If I were to make something new like this, I think I'd sit down and think about the places that make me the most comfortable. If there's a few of those, think about WHY they make you comfortable there, or what it is that draws you to those places. It could be somewhere you're very familiar with, or maybe somewhere you only went once but there was something that resonated with you, something that struck you in a personal way. You could always take a little bit of all those things and toss them together, see what you get.

From what little I've experimented with the Horizon so far, it seems pretty good at weaving together ideas even we can't quite seem to form in full ourselves. I mean, the first time I was in there I didn't remember a thing about myself, but it still formed the place I would want to be the most. SOME part of me was still aware of it, even if I couldn't remember it at the time.

Perhaps. But less so without numbers to keep it, and when I cannot be there all of the time.
